August Reign Studios, LLC 83- 1899115 | Government Grant Application

August Reign Studios, LLC | Application Preview

August Reign Studios, LLC is seeking government funding to support its growth in the hair industry. The funds would primarily help cover booth rental fees, travel expenses, and the rental of a property for business expansion, all while providing for necessary supplies and materials.

The business plan highlights the owner’s intention to expand services beyond hair care, creating opportunities for other self-care entrepreneurs to collaborate and provide a wider range of wellness services. The owner currently manages the business alone, facing the challenges of stress and workload, and is looking to hire additional staff to enhance service quality and customer experience. The vision for the next five years includes a thriving business with a diverse team of workers and new business owners, all focused on client satisfaction.

The owner emphasizes a personal connection with clients, which contributes to the unique atmosphere and experience people enjoy at August Reign Studios. Despite challenges, including a car accident and the pandemic, the demand for services remains strong, underscoring the business's necessity in the market.

Competitive advantage stems from offering a diverse range of services and a unique, client-focused atmosphere that sets the owner apart from other local stylists. The owner has developed their product line over five years and stays updated on industry trends to consistently provide innovative services. • Business Plan

The hair industry is growing, but as of right now I only offer hair services and limited hair products. Word of mouth is a great avenue for advertisement and the demand for my service and products grow and increase rapidly. I travel to multiple locations and I get the same results with each additional city. As the business grows, I would like to open doors for other hair stylists in the community. I handle everything by myself and it can get very stressful, so I have been considering hiring an assistant and another helping hand to provide services to my clients. Within my business, I would like to offer other entrepreneurs who offer “self care” services an opportunity to work with my clients who may be interested in other services I don’t provide which would also result in the start of their business. With the extra help, I can focus more on my clientele and increase the quality of my services. In the next 5 years, I would love to see my business thriving with new workers and new business owners all working together to achieve one common goal, which is to make sure our clients leave with smiles and the intention of returning again and again. I enjoy meeting new people and being a “listening ear” to those in need more than I enjoy actually doing hair and that is what keeps me going. I found out that people really enjoy my services more than those who have been offering the same prior to me, because of who I am as a person. It makes me realize that I am offering an atmosphere not like those they had previously been working with. In doing hair, I realize how much I want to help other entrepreneurs. With this in mind, not only will clients be able to receive hair services, but with the expansion of other avenues, they may be able to receive other services that improve mind, body, spirit, wellness, health, and confidence. I have 10 years of experience and only the last 5 have been focused on improving self and business. Year 2019 was the year I had in mind to continuously take steps in advancing my services, but 2019 was also the year I could barely move forward in business due to a car accident that set all things personal and business behind for the remainder of the year. This set back along with the crisis of 2020 really motivated me in going forward and taking business serious. Although difficult to grant, the demand for hair services was high last year during the pandemic which was surprising and let me know even further that my services were necessary. Funding will simply help me take the next steps in providing and promoting the atmosphere and services needed for those seeking them. It will motivate me knowing that I have help to move forward and not postpone due to the uncertainty of how long my finances will keep me afloat in my personal life.

  • Self Identified Competition

There are not too many stylist who offer the same (or all) the services that I do. There are some who were established before me that I have surpassed in professionalism and the ability to provide good customer service. Those who came afterwards often reach out to me for advice and look forward to seeing my growth. The only competition I would like to think existed would be my current state of business versus where I am trying to go. In this city, there are 2 main locticians: Pride Locs, LLC and myself. In addition to us, there are those upcoming stylist who have recently started their business (who may look up to us) and are growing their clientele who may not be fully established as a business. I have so many different avenues to offer from those who offer the same hair services. I have a product line I have been working on and altering over the past 5 years. I offer other hair improvement services that the others in the area do not. I stay updated on the latest hair trends, I practice, and try offering the services before others. I have had plenty of clients who had to receive services from other locticians (due to my schedule being booked) return and state how they had to wait hours before receiving services, how they felt as though the atmosphere wasn’t safe for their children, how the energy from the stylist didn’t mix with theirs, how the quality of service did not match the pricing, etc. New and returning clients always commend me on my timing and the ability to get serviced immediately when booking with me. Clients also compliment the ease and simplicity of booking with me. I like to please my clients and it’s always about having them return rather than making money. I try my best to uplift all those who sit in my chair. I’m aware that the quality of work I put out doesn’t match the pricing because I feel as though I have to stay within the “normal price range” due to my location when I could really charge more.
