  • Business Plan

Our target buyers reside, shop, and work in the Ogden depot business park and the surrounding areas within a 5-mile radius. The location is a large reason we feel that Roasted will be successful. 499w 2nd st Ogden Utah is next to the Business Depot Ogden (BDO) right at the entrance from the Ogden side that houses many different businesses including Scott, Osprey, Autoliv, Hershey, The Home Depot, FEDEX, Honeyville, Nutraceutical, Apex industrial battery, Wheel Pros, ThermoFisher, Northrop Grumman, Answer Financial, IFiT, Five9’s, Capstone Nutrition, Barnes Aerospace, Elkay, Kenco Logistics, Petersen Incorporated, Bechtel, Alphia, JKD products Inc. Hydrojug Juglife, Lifetech Pharma, ProPack, Edge Products, AAR, Tree House, Fresenius Medical Care, Bimbo Bakeries USA, Amer Sports, and Reader Link. This creates a lot of traffic that is entering and exiting the BDO without much to eat or drink. The BDO has more than one business that works through the night as well. A lot of people are going in to work in the evening and are looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite and or coffee to get their day started. This will give Roasted the opportunity to capitalize on the morning shifts and the afternoon/ night shifts. 2nd street has no Restaurants or coffee shops that exist on it. For lunch or coffee they must travel to 12th street or over to the freeway. Roasted would be the closest restaurant and coffee shop to the BDO and with the amount of traffic on 2nd street I believe that our name could get out there quickly. Near our location to the north east is a high-density neighborhood with around 150 homes which has 3 of the 5 outlets on 2ND st and one right across the street from the Roasted future location. There is another neighborhood of 50+ homes to the south east that has an elementary school in it just blocks away. Helping us capture the morning mothers dropping off their children. Our marketing strategy is to leverage relationships with local food vendors in order to grow our initial customer base. We plan to partner with local musicians and plan to attend public events in order to offer samples and promotional discounts. Additionally, we will expand our customer base via referrals and word of mouth from our existing customers. ROASTED also plans to reach new and existing customers through social media and flyers. We will offer lower prices than those of our direct competitors. Furthermore, we will be able to maintain these lower prices by sourcing ingredients from our locally owned coffee roasters and fostering our existing relationships with local farmers markets.

  • Self Identified Competition

The top three competitors locally are: Daily Rise Grounds for Coffee Starbucks These companies do well in the Ogden market but should not be much of an impact to our demographic as none of them are located with in a 5 mile radius. For Ogden-based business professionals working in the BDO ROASTED will become the customer’s first choice due to the convenient location and quality of food. At ROASTED, customers can purchase a meal that we source from high-quality ingredients and serve in at an affordable price. For professional colleagues on a lunch break, we can present a highly appealing choice: a one-stop, quick option offering.
