Semper Fi Service Dogs | Application Preview
Semper Fi Service Dogs is seeking government grants to fund a year-long salary for a specialized service dog trainer. The organization's plan includes establishing a home base for veterans to train and a boarding facility for dogs in training. Although they are already an approved nonprofit in Florida, they're pending their 501c3 status. Semper Fi intends to pursue various grants related to veterans and service dogs while continuing to engage in fundraising and utilizing social media to raise awareness.
The organization is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for veterans by pairing them with shelter dogs that are trained as service animals. The founder, a veteran himself, emphasizes the mission of helping others. Their comprehensive training program covers socialization, obedience, task work, and certification. The motto "No Vet Left Behind" reflects their commitment to fostering a supportive community for veterans and their families.
In terms of competition, Semper Fi faces organizations like Paws 4 Liberty, Canines for Hope, and Renewal Coalition/Furry Friends, with which they intend to collaborate. What sets Semper Fi apart is their commitment to ongoing support for veterans after they are paired with a dog, including continued training and group outings. This approach not only assists veterans but also engages their families, encouraging a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those they support.

Business Plan
Once we have secured funding for our dog trainer, we would like to acquire or build a home base for all the veterans to train and practice and boarding facility for new dogs in training. We are an approved Florida non for profit, but waiting on our 501c3. We will apply for any and all grants related to veterans and dogs. We will continue to fundraise and be prominent on Social Media Platforms. We will create additional relationships with the VA/ Veteran related programs and animal shelters. We are only in business to help others. The founder is a veteran and wants to improve a veterans quality of life while saving a shelter dog in the process. We only use shelter dogs and train them to become service dogs. Our Trainer and staff assist in pairing the veteran with the right dog & all training including socialization, basic obedience, taskwork, service dog modules, specialized services, final certification & graduation. Our motto is "No Vet Left Behind". Every Veteran becomes part of a bigger family that keeps them connected.

Self Identified Competition
Paws 4 Liberty located in Lake Worth Florida - also trains shelter dogs or donated dogs for returning soldiers with disabilities. Canines for Hope - located in Palm City Florida, they are not exclusive service dog trainers. Renewal Coalition/ Furry Friends - Jupiter, FL - We have formed a relationship and we plan to partner on future endeavors. The difference with our program is that once the veteran is paired with a dog, the journey has just begun. We have continued training and pack outings for as long as the veteran wishes to take part. It has created a network of support and welcomes families to participate and allow them to further understand their loved ones challenges.
