Whispering Woods Farm LLC 0384321 | Government Grant Application

Whispering Woods Farm LLC | Application Preview

Whispering Woods Farm LLC is applying for government grants to fund the construction of a new facility aimed at expanding its programs, acquiring farm equipment, hiring staff, and purchasing animals for their programs. The farm plans to double its current offerings, including the addition of Licensed Equine Assisted Therapy, which will be eligible for medical billing.

The need for this funding is underscored by various crises facing the Vermont community, such as childcare shortages, students struggling academically, veterans adjusting after service, and individuals dealing with life's stressors. The farm intends to support the community by providing a safe environment for youth to improve their academic skills, offering coping mechanisms for life's challenges, and engaging participants in meaningful activities. Additionally, the facility will promote local community benefits, including food donation initiatives and job creation.

Whispering Woods Farm aims to cater to a broad audience, including children, teens, adults, and seniors, emphasizing its commitment to fostering a healthy and supportive community. The farm will also support the local economy by sourcing seeds from nearby vendors and partnering with local artisans.

There are currently no direct competitors in the area, with only one facility offering a different scope of Equine Assisted Therapy. Whispering Woods differentiates itself by emphasizing Equine Assisted Learning and Life Skills, creating a comprehensive program that also fosters relationships and community spirit. The applicant is determined and dedicated to turning this vision into a reality, ensuring that the farm can provide vital support to those in need while enhancing the local area.

  • Business Plan

We intend to double the programs available that are on the current roaster. We will also be adding Licensed Equine Assisted Therapy which will be medical billable. We all face many situations that Vermont is currently calling a Crisis. Childcare vacancies are non-existent. Students falling behind and falling through the cracks. Veterans coming home are different people than they were when they left. Life stressors of the overworked essential workers. Those who have been home bound for nearly a year now. Winter blues affect nearly all of us every year. Food insecurity is affecting many, and seeking help is not always easy. As well as many homes on unemployment who would love to be hired and no longer be receiving this support. With my facility we will be helping the community with all the possible difficulties listed above. We will offer several programs that will focus on the youth and provide a safe place where they can get the help they need in their school work. We will also provide services to help them cope with the life stressors they may be faced with now, and possibly in the future. We will also engage them in activities where they can feel accomplished, and also benefit their local community by donating what items they have helped to grow at the facility. Our Veterans, and all those who are facing difficult times, social difficulties, lifeskills, and individual confidence and empowerment we will be there for them. We will offer many services to aid them in their coping skills, and help them to manage and grow with all our animal assisted services. We will be here for the community, if it’s for after school care (the bus goes right by the property) for young ones to teenagers, to adults and seniors. We will strive to make a difference, and give back in any way we can to enhance this beautiful state we call home. We will create jobs, and promote money going into our local economy. We will purchase seeds from a local place in Wolcott, and have local artisans promote their art and some products in our facility to boost their desire to continue to be in business. We are neighbors helping neighbors, and will show that when the year end comes and we donate 10% of our profits to a scholarship fund to bring in those who can’t afford services at the facility. We are here for everyone, for a healthy happy community. I am hardworking and dedicated to make this happen, and won't give up till it becomes a reality.

  • Self Identified Competition

There are no competitors in my area. There is one facility that offers Equine Assisted Physical Therapy which is not within the same scope of practice of my programs. The only farm that does offer this scope of programs is over an hour drive from this location, and the programs similar to what are offered at Whispering Woods Farm is programs I run at the other facility. After much research I have found that Equine Assisted Learning & Activities are very beneficial to the public in many ways. While other programs may offer general after school programs I will also incorporate lifeskills, partnerships, relationships, and community.
