Needful Things LLC 517-15-7933 | Government Grant Application

Needful Things LLC | Application Preview

Needful Things LLC is seeking government grants to support its growth and services as a natural health practitioner. The funding will primarily cover educational expenses, including $6,000 for tuition in a Natural Health Practitioner program and $300 for state licensing in North and South Dakota. An additional $4,200 is allocated for branding efforts like logo development and promotional items, as well as local advertising. The remainder of the funds will assist with vehicle maintenance and related costs since the business relies on mobility.

The business plan outlines a vision to transition from part-time to a full-time practice and to extend services into neighboring states such as Wyoming. The applicant emphasizes the increasing demand for preventative and holistic health care alternatives, positioning her services as essential in light of rising traditional health care costs. The application reflects a commitment to family values and personal responsibility, aiming to set a positive example for her children.

In terms of competition, while there are limited local massage services, the unique mobile approach of Needful Things LLC offers a significant advantage by catering to clients' schedules and minimizing overhead costs. The goal extends beyond providing massage; it includes empowering clients to take charge of their health proactively.

  • Funding Usage

I would use the funding to pay the remaining tuition for further education/ I'm enrolled in a Natural Health Practitioner program.($6000) I would pay for state licensing in North and South Dakota to facilitate expanding my client base for massage and future practitioner practice. ($300) I would use $4000 to develop a logo and provide branded promotional items (ie. sweatshirts, coffee mugs, fitness gear), and advertising locally ($200). I am a traveling therapist and rely heavily on my vehicle, therefore the remainder of the funds would help pay for vehicle maintenance/ upgrade, tires, mechanical maintenance, fuel, insurance, plates.

  • Business Plan

I am currently enrolled in an online Natural Health Practitioner college program, and I intend to expand my scope of practice to help facilitate wellness beyond massage therapy. I would like to resign from my full time employment to transition my business to full time. I would like to extend my services to neighboring states (North and South Dakota, Wyoming). I intend to promote my business with my own logo and branded gear. I believe in my craft, and the power of touch. In this societal climate, compassion and humanity are more important than ever. Prevention, massage, and all natural health therapies are in more demand these days, with the rising cost of traditional health care. Naturopathy focuses on overall health and prevention, which are so important. I intend to pursue these goals, while taking the opportunity to demonstrate the importance of work ethic, personal accountability, and education to my children and family.

  • Self Identified Competition

My top competitors include a private massage business, a small practice located in the the town of Ekalaka. There is a Massage Therapist who works from her home in Baker, but she isn't taking new clients. Local folks have to drive 100 to 400 miles to locate another Massage Therapist. I am unique to my area because I choose to stay mobile rather than rent a space. This keeps overhead low, and provides a convenient service to individuals who have scheduling issues. My goals are not to just provide massage, but to teach clients how to become proactive in their health.
