B-PLATE 85-2392459 | Government Grant Application

B-PLATE | Application Preview

B-PLATE is seeking government grants to support the development of a groundbreaking orthopedic trauma wrist plate, leveraging advanced technology that is both biological and radiolucent under X-rays. This innovative product is valued at 3.5 million dollars and aims to enhance patient outcomes with its unique material properties. Following the wrist plate, B-PLATE plans to develop additional plates for the thigh, leg, and arm, with a projected combined valuation of 50 million dollars.

The funding will be allocated to various stages, including research and design, prototyping, manufacturing, testing, FDA approval, and marketing efforts. The material utilized for these plates has already received FDA approval for different uses, ensuring a smoother path to regulatory compliance. This material not only exhibits superior strength compared to current metals but also matches the modulus of bone, which could reduce the chance of fractures at the plate's ends.

B-PLATE faces competition from established companies like Depuy Synthes, Stryker Orthopedics, and Zimmer Orthopedics, all of which do not yet incorporate this advanced material in their trauma plating solutions. B-PLATE's competitive edge lies in the novel application of this patented material in trauma plates, with interest already shown from other companies eager to explore partnerships upon finalizing patents and prototypes.

1st product to be sold is a type of an Orthopedic trauma wrist plate using a space age technology that is biological and is radiolucent with X-rays. Our technology will be the first of its type in the world. Valuation is 3.5 million dollars on this first plate. 2nd plate and 3 other plates will use the same material for the thigh, leg and arm. Valuation is 50,000,000 for these other plates. Our plate designs and the material used will be the first in the world. The material is approved by the FDA in other applications. It will be radiolucent, biological, and will be stronger than current metals on the market with better fatigue strength and has a similar modulus to that of bone so it will be less prone to bone fracture at the end of the plate.

  • Self Identified Competition

Depuy Synthes- Don’t have the material in their plating yet Stryker Orthopedics- Don’t have the material yet in their portfolio Zimmer Orthopedics- Don’t have the material in plating yet but do use it in their Craniofacial fracture portfolio None of the companies mentioned above don’t use this material yet in their trauma plating. Some companies are already interested in discussing further when we receive our patent and make our prototypes
