Maloneys Irish Pub Maloneys Irish Pub | Government Grant Application

Maloneys Irish Pub | Application Preview

Maloneys Irish Pub is seeking government grants to help sustain their business during the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pub has had to close its doors to customers, and while they are selling package liquor, it is insufficient to cover their expenses. If the shutdown lasts more than two months, they fear permanent closure could become a reality, jeopardizing their homes and financial stability. The requested funds would primarily assist in covering their bills during this difficult time.

The owners, Jordan and Kris, envision expanding their business beyond the pub to include a wedding venue or another bar under the Maloney's brand. They emphasize their dedication, as they invest over 60 hours a week ensuring the bar operates smoothly and remains a fun, safe space for their community in Omaha.

While there are local bars in the area, they consider their competitors more as collaborators during these tough times, uniting to support one another since the onset of the pandemic. The two women owners highlight their competitive edge as they have persevered through various challenges, actively engaging with their customers to build connections within the community. Their application conveys a strong sense of commitment and resilience, hoping for the necessary support to survive and thrive beyond the current crisis.

  • Funding Usage

We will except as much as we can. We have been affected by the COVID-19 and have had to shut our doors to our costumers. We are able to sell package liquor but it is not making ends meet. If we have to stay shut down for more then 2 months we may have to shut down permanently. The money would go towards helping us maintain our bills during this pandemic. Please consider us. We are aware of the money available to help small businesses but we already have a loans out in our name from when we bought the bar in September 2019 that we are trying to pay off. If we have to shut our doors it could result in us losing our homes as well.

  • Business Plan

We would love to open a wedding venue or another bar under the Maloney's name. We are two women who have put our heart and souls into this bar. We put over 60 hours a week to make sure this bar is clean, running properly, safe, and fun for the city of Omaha. Jordan and Kris have both worked in the wedding business in the past and would love to take the next step. Right now we are just hoping to make it through this pandemic.

  • Self Identified Competition

We have a few local bar in the area but I would not say they are competitors. Since COVID-19 we have really come together as a community and tried to support one another. We are two women owners which we have had to over come some obstacles because of that. We work hard and we are in our business every day for many hours. We works shifts with the public so we can make connections and friends.
