Funding Usage
My husband and I have worked really hard all our lives to provide for our 4 children. He is an ordained minister and, also, a truck driver. We have talked about starting our own trucking business for the past two years (as i work in trucking logistics and management) but have always put it on hold due to limited start up funds. This year was our break through year - we submitted for our LLC and EIN and are currently stepping out on faith to obtain all the necessary trucking licenses needed to operate. We are strong believers and determined to finally go after what God has promised - Gatesway Transport LLC! We will be transporting non-hazardous loads intrastate and/or interstate bound while building a new culture in the trucking business with our strong belief in equality, laughter, and ethical behaviors. If awarded the grant or loan, we would be able to purchase a truck - this is the most essential piece to the start up of our company. We currently own a 2012 Silverado, but this particular truck is not designed to haul as much weight as needed - it will not pass the TxDOT certification.

Business Plan
My plans are to expand delivery territories to outside of our region or Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana within the next 2 years. Furthermore, with the expansion of territories, the increase in revenue will allow Gatesway Transport LLC to evolve from hot shot trucking to tractor/trailer hauling - this, in turn, will allow the company to ship loads that generate three times the current pay. Trucking/transporting/logistics is a very lucrative industry. It, also, has proven to be a very essential to the economy. Not to mention, my 90 day action plan is to finish the truck broker course so that i can broker my own loads - there won't be a middle man. This increases revenue for the company. 100% of the payout for shipping each load will come directly to Gatesway Transport LLC.

Self Identified Competition
All of my competitors were at a small disadvantage of not knowing the business before start up. However, i have been in the trucking logistics for over 5 years and my husband has been a CDL driver for over 10 years. Together, we have more than enough knowledge of DOT regulations, planning/logistics, and other industry protocols. We have established and built relationships with our customers before the company was built. We hold ourselves to a high standard of ethical behavior, efficiency, safety, result-driven, and customer focus. We have developed key marketing tactics in the past 6 months - we are a household name.
