  • Business Plan

I plan to grow my membership numbers as the current "Covid" situation allows. My members will pay monthly dues and have access to classes, tutoring and workshops. Walk-ins and members will have the option to purchase food and beverages by calling ahead, ordering through our app or walking in. After being open for 2 months, I will also add a Play Cafe option to caregivers and their babies and toddlers. They will have the opportunity to have a membership in the morning, while the older students are in school. That will be an additional revenue stream as I will have a toddler menu and coffees, smoothies and lunches to eat in or to go, targeting these caregivers. Also put together a curriculum plan to offer Professional Development for teachers. I have great experience in this area and some very strong colleagues from past positions who are excited about being a part of this. In addition, a small part of my plan is to offer parent academies/workshop. For example, "Supporting Your Dyslexic Child" A final revenue stream is to offer the upstairs private room for private meetings, workshops and parties. My mission is to offer a safe and enriching environment where children’s academic, social and emotional needs could be met and parents and educators can find support. The PEACH PIT 07760 is a unique, in-demand, safe and welcoming space for members of our young community to come together. It will serve as a perfect space for clubs, celebrations, classes and events. What makes the Peach Pit so special though is how it is designed as a safe and welcoming space to socialize, eat, be independent, receive tutoring, take enrichment classes, work collaboratively, stretch their independence or feature their talents/personal projects. It supports student wellness and their social and emotional well being. The plan is intentional and research driven. Every student BELONGS at this inclusive community space. Every type of person is celebrated, recognized and welcomed. Now more than ever, we need a place such as this. I have been an educator for the past 20 years. I have worked with elementary to college age students. I am a certified academic life coach as well as a teacher coach. When I left the classroom I began my work in schools coaching teachers, running professional development, providing academic life coaching to older students as well as running academic workshops for students. This past fall, I created a program where I provided support for K - 7 students during virtual learning days. I hired teachers, created age appropriate and safe pods, indoor and outdoor learning environments, food service and an extracurricular schedule. Students were monitored and cared for by teachers during their virtual school day, given tutoring and enrichment opportunities as well as participating in archery, science, wood carving, baking, music, drama, language lessons, etc while their parents were working. The program was so successful, I know I can replicate this and make it even better at the Peach Pit.

  • Self Identified Competition

While there is such a demand for a space for students to work, socialize and be welcomed, there is no competition for it. I have researched for the past several years and have found nothing but religious youth groups that meet on a weekly basis. There are play cafes for toddlers, learning centers that just offer tutoring, and then coffee shops and delis where students often end up gathering but are not appropriate or welcoming for them. In our area, students walk from school and end up standing around a local bagel shop with two small tables or a deli with no tables. They just want somewhere to go and feel independent. They have been so isolated this past year, it is imperative now more than ever to provide them with a safe and happy place to be. My mission is to meet their academic and social needs. I will highlight student talents and put their "gifts" on display. We have many talented artists, musicians, athletes, etc. I would love to offer them a space to be celebrated, mentor younger students, work, study, socialize, etc.
