Pin'd Performance | Application Preview
Pin'd Performance is seeking government grants to enhance its operations and product offerings. The funding will primarily support inventory purchases for upcoming snowmobile expos, aiming to increase brand visibility and sales. The owner has already achieved $10,000 in sales over six months using personal funds, but has faced challenges due to lead times and backorders.
In addition, the company is in the process of developing a new product related to the Arctic Cat Monorail system, addressing a significant pain point in the market. This innovation has the potential to either be a best-seller or attract licensing interest from Arctic Cat.
The business plan emphasizes growth as a reputable problem-solving entity within the motorsports industry, leveraging the Pin'd brand to connect with customers. The strategy involves combining a profitable apparel line with innovative aftermarket solutions to foster brand loyalty.
Pin'd Performance differentiates itself from the competition by its unique product design and more straightforward installation processes. The owner, a mechanical engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit, focuses on creating effective solutions rather than temporary fixes. The competitive landscape includes TKI, BDX, and Burly BMFab, all of which offer products that are often complicated to install and may alter the vehicle’s geometry. In contrast, Pin'd's offerings are designed to enhance functionality and are user-friendly, using high-quality materials and straightforward assembly.

Funding Usage
To purchase inventory- We are going to snowmobile expos this spring and fall to get exposure and sell product. I've sold $10k worth of product in 6 months with my own funds but lead times/back orders held me back from making more. Develop/finalize new (in the works) product - I am working on a patent that is particular to the Arctic Cat Monorail system that fixes the biggest pain point. They will either sell faster than I can make them or Arctic Cat will license it being that it allows them to fix their problem without retooling their manufacturing process equipment.

Business Plan
I plan to grow as a reputable hard parts problem solving company. Pin'd is a brand - it is 4 letters, targets the motorsports industry and those in it intuitively understand its meaning. Apparel will bring in the money, the aftermarket development will bring the excitement and loyalty to the brand. I'm a mechanical engineer who was always an entrepreneur. I solve problems. Relationship problems or financial problems. I break down the system into components, I find the good and bad. I pivot with no regard to my ego. I make things work or I don't put my name on it.

Self Identified Competition
TKI (Tom Kobza Industries) - He makes a lot of machined parts for snowmobiles, including a brace for the Arctic Cat monorail. BDX (Black Diamond Extreme) - They make tubular style running boards (made in China) for the Arctic Cat and other brands. They are complicated to install, slippery, and change the geometry of the snowmobile. Burly BMFab - They make a tubular style running board. They are the same complicated install, changing the snowmobile's geometry, and slippery. I am an engineer. I am an artist. I won art contests and I won geography bees. I look at things differently, with a very creative mind that is scrutinized by the engineering part of my mind. My products are not band aid fixes like most of those out there. My products fill a specific need. IE My running boards are milled out of aluminum, are flat, retain the stock structure of the snowmobile and can be installed in a couple hours with 3 tools that most everyone has in their garage.
