D & D Fence | Application Preview
D & D Fence is seeking government grants to fund the purchase of a skid steer, which will enhance their ability to dig holes for fence posts, especially in rocky areas. The funds will enable the business to take on larger projects more efficiently and potentially create a new job position to support this growth.
The owner, who has been operating the business solo for several years, expresses a strong desire to expand. Currently, the lack of proper equipment limits their capability to tackle tougher jobs, particularly in rocky terrain. Obtaining the skid steer is seen as a critical step in overcoming this challenge and significantly boosting business operations.
D & D Fence faces competition from Robinson’s Fence Company, Ozark Fence, and Anchor Fence Company, all vying for similar big contracts. However, the owner believes they possess a competitive edge through personalized, face-to-face estimates, contrasting with larger companies that rely on automated systems that may miscalculate project requirements. As a second-generation fence builder, the owner prides themselves on quality work and custom repairs that meet customer specifications, often at a more reasonable price than competitors. This commitment to quality and customer relations positions D & D Fence favorably within the market.

Robinson’s Fence Company Ozark Fence Anchor Fence Company We all want the big jobs, but we all don’t have the equipment to do them. We all like to stay busy. I do person to person estimates. The bigger companies use a computer to figure the feet and usually incorrect on gates or feet of job. Customers like to meet who’s coming to do their work before they come. I am a second generation fence builder. I do fencing the correct way and with quality on each job. Doing repairs for customers as to their specifications. Charging a price that doesn’t have a huge markup like other business.
