Salvage USA | Application Preview
Salvage USA is seeking government grants to support three key programs funded through donations. The first program, Project Expedition, focuses on helping participants cope with issues like depression, PTSD, and loneliness through activities such as dive therapy, guided hunts, sky-diving, and surfing lessons. The second initiative, the Strategic Community Citizenship (SCC) Initiative, connects participants with local veteran-owned businesses to gain practical experiences and skills in areas like surfboard and skateboard design, blacksmithing, coffee roasting, and brewing. The third program offers vocational apprenticeships aimed at training transitioning military personnel in various trades, with financial support for participating businesses.
Salvage USA aims to expand its vocational education and apprenticeship program nationally by leveraging partnerships with industry and government. As a 501c3 non-profit, the organization emphasizes action and transparency, providing essential support to military personnel during their crucial transition period. Current statistics highlight a concerning increase in suicide rates among transitioning military, making their work all the more urgent.
While organizations like the Navy Seal Foundation and Wounded Warrior also support veterans, they do not offer a similar apprenticeship model or focus on transitioning personnel. Salvage USA distinguishes itself through its partnerships with community businesses and a low administrative cost of just ten percent, ensuring that the majority of funding directly benefits veterans and related industries. The organization aims not only to aid veterans but also to make a positive impact on the broader community.

Funding Usage
Salvage USA has three essential fully funded programs via donations: (1) project expedition, (2) strategic community citizenship initiative, and (3) vocational apprenticeship training. *Project expedition helps our participants alleviate the symptomatology of depression, loneliness, TBI, PTSD, and suicide via planned dive therapy excursions, guided hunt outings, sky-diving experiences, and surfing lessons. *The Strategic Community Citizenship (SCC) Initiative assists participants by partnering with local veteran-owned and supporting businesses that provide tactile services, entrepreneurial experience, and specialized trade skills (surfboard building, skateboard design and build, blacksmithing, coffee roasting, and brewmaster apprenticeship). *The vocational apprenticeship program utilizes donor funding to compensate business and industry payroll to train military personnel transitioning from active duty, within a specified trade skill (HVAC, welding, construction, gas, electrician, cyber technician).

Business Plan
With the assistance of a strategic community citizenship initiative, Salvage USA plans to nationally expand its vocational education and apprenticeship program by utilizing global industry partners along with government and military relationships. As a 501c3 non-profit organization, Salvage USA is not a veteran awareness association, but one of action and transparency. We significantly assist transitioning military personnel via apprenticeships, scholarships, and educational training. Current statistics illustrate that military suicide is five times the average during the transition period.

Self Identified Competition
Navy Seal Foundation also works with Naval Special Warfare personnel and has over $100 million in assets, yet, they do not provide an apprenticeship program with community partners. Wounded Warrior is somewhat similar, except they do not focus on transitioning military or vocational training. Salvage USA is succinctly different from all other non-profits due to our community partnerships with small businesses, large community companies, and global veteran supporting industries. Salvage USA maintains a mere ten percent administrative cost of operations, while the remaining ninety percent directly impact veterans, veteran-owned businesses, and veteran supporting industries. As well, Salvage USA desires to impact the community at large by assisting veterans.
