Funding Usage
My plan for using this funding would pay for the horse's board for one full year as well as any vet and farrier visits. On top of that, each child would be able to spend an unlimited time with the horse without any cost to the families.

Business Plan
I plan to help more children year after year. I would like to eventually run day camps in the summer. I would like to own more than one horse to be able to make this my full time job to help every child in New Hampshire as much as possible. Healing on Manes is helping heal children's emotional traumas through horses. Horses have an innate ability to heal. In NH, we have very few stables that offer therapeutic riding and have now just started to offer natural horsemanship to veterans with PTSD. I am the first to start using equine services to help heal childhood emotional traumas. If we can stop the mental health pandemic at a young age and help children overcome their traumas, I am hopeful to be able to change children's lives, all for no cost to the families who may not be able to get their child mental health help.

Self Identified Competition
UpReach Therapeutic riding center does work with mentally disable or handicapped children and adults to do therapeutic riding as well as having started working with adults with PTSD. TROT- therapeutic riding on thoroughbreds does similar work as UpReach. They have an unmounted program, but not specifically for children or traumas/emotional abuse, and charge for every lesson. Back in the saddle equine services is another therapeutic riding program and provides services for veterans or first responders suffering from ptsd. My business is different because I am specifically targeting children with behavioral and mental health diagnoses to heal their traumas through horses. People have clearly seen the impact in adults, yet no one has tried to get ahead of the curve. The mental health pandemic is far worse than any other we are dealing with as a state and country. Mental health may lead to drugs, suicide, or worse. There is such a limited amount of help for those who suffer and especially a place for kids to feel comfortable, as well as this all being affordable for the families. I want to make a difference. I want to touch every child's life in a way that they can be confident,strong, loving, and know how to be loved. Healing on manes is a home for rescued horses and rescued hearts.
