Self Identified Competition
My first top competitor is other Etsy artists with shops. There is a strong competition with those pricing, products and knowledge of the industry. Another competitor is major retail stores, such as Wal-Mart, because it is a store front that offers a convenient and affordable wholesale products and they are very skilled in impulsive buying techniques with consumers. I am a trendy and a fashionable conscious artist. My artist aesthetic is eye catching while my products are useful and desired during these uncertain times. I create products that consumers need and want, while my competitors try to just appeal to customers compulsive habits, which is an old business model. I am different because I allow customers to choose from more variety and personalization, and I have a great artistic reputation that large retailers cannot reproduce. While I may be slightly ahead of my time and that I am apart of the "support the local businesses" trend, my competitors are not being as innovating and trend setting as I am. People can wear and use my products to describe their uniqueness and their voice, while addressing recent concerns in the world, such as the polluting plastic issue, pandemic virus scares, and political issues with our ethnicity.
