Boyd BHG Foundation | Application Preview
The Boyd BHG Foundation is seeking government grants to support its mission of providing educational services to children year-round at multiple locations. The funding will be used for operational costs, staff salaries, supplies, financial assistance for parents, and a summer camp program.
The Foundation emphasizes the importance of nurturing future leaders by offering a supportive environment where children can receive guidance and mentorship. They recognize the competitive landscape, including organizations like the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club, but highlight their unique approach of building lasting relationships with students and families.
The foundation's team is dedicated to addressing issues of racism and understanding its impact as a learned behavior. Their educational model focuses on three key areas:
1. **Self Awareness**: Creating a safe space for youth to explore their identities and understand differences.
2. **Educational Development**: Offering culturally relevant teaching and promoting discussions on race and social justice to prepare students for real-world interactions.
3. **Community Partnerships**: Engaging with local organizations to confront racism and promote unity and acceptance among diverse groups.
The Foundation believes these efforts will empower children and strengthen their communities, underscoring the importance of the funding they are requesting.

Self Identified Competition
YMCA Boys & Girls Club Rec Centers We work closely with the children and the community. We support ours students out of the program. When the have games or school event we show up to cheer them on. We build everlasting relationships with the children and parents. Our team of educators are very passionate about breaking the generation curse of racism, understanding that it is a learned behavior. Our approach is a proven system that we each have tested within the last 3 years in our careers with the youth we have encountered. We teach the following: 1) Self Awareness- Helping our youth to understand & accept their identity, by creating a safe space for us to actively listen to the experiences of our peers. Then being responsible enough to accept the differences we each have. 2) Educational Development-Creating Learning opportunities that focus on culturally relevant teaching, cultural competence, diversity and multiculturalism inside and outside of our community. This teaching will acknowledge race, ethnicity and prioritize preventing racism through social justice. When we learn about cultures but do not talk about the difficult aspects of our history, we do a disservice to our students and our society. 3) Lastly, Community Partnerships- Once our youth has learned about racism they must go out into the world and interact with these issues in real time. Our Foundation has partnered with community organizations who are combating issues of racism and equality in their community. Bringing all colors and ethnicities together for one common goal and purpose..... Unity, Acceptance and Love.
