Funding Usage
The funding will be used for expenses that will support the mission including operational. (if operational expenses are allowed) i. We want to reach students in several underserved communities on the south, west, north and southeast side. To accomplish that we will need to cover facility rental, transportation, speaker, program, workshop, meals, team lead stipend ii. We encourage students to pursue higher education. To accomplish this goal, we will need to cover college fair expenses including travel and accommodations. iii. We are developing youth leaders. To accomplish this, we will need to cover speaker expenses, room rental, technology, supplies and workshop expenses. iv. We are teaching financial literacy. To accomplish this, we will need to cover workshop fees, transportation, rental fees, technology and educational materials. v. We are mentoring male and female students, empowering them to handle the challenges of being a teen and going into adulthood. To accomplish this, we will need to cover rental fees, technology, materials and supplies, speaker fees, transportation and other fees associated to exploration trips.

a. Be The Miracle partners with organizations doing similar work in the city. In order to make the impact needed for the youth of Chicago, it will take more than just one group. b. Programs that are similar to Be The Miracle are: i. Youth For A Better Future - The organization is dedicated to educating and inspiring youth to better their world by showing them how to take charge. They recognize that many factors affect our youth’s fulfillment and strive to offer stimulating activities and programs that provide them with an endless array of exposure and opportunities. Common Ground - Empowers high school students from under-served communities to become future leaders. Their programs focus on character development, social impact, healthy living, technology, financial literacy, creative arts, and global leadership. Programs encourage students to set a goal for their high school and college careers and they support the path they set for themselves. Their team of dedicated coaches and mentors work with students in an individual and group setting. They believe that every child has the opportunity to succeed and lead given the proper resources. iii. Build Chicago - BUILD engages Chicago’s at-risk youth in schools and on the streets to help them reach their full potential. They provide positive alternatives to gangs, violence, and other threats, and do whatever it takes to support youth success -- whether it’s help leaving a gang, violence prevention, arts programs, or help finding a job or getting into college. They work in challenging neighborhoods like Austin, Humboldt Park, East Garfield, Fuller Park, Logan Square, and Hermosa using a nationally-known model. • We offer customizable programs; we work with our partners to tailor our offerings to fit their needs • We can work with large and small groups • We address many issues for young people who have experienced gun violence; including mental health, de-escalation skills, leadership, community and financial literacy We are trying to address the need to take back and rebuild Chicago communities with the help of young leaders to end violence in the city. Our programs are designed to develop youth leaders, provide positive adult mentors, encourage higher education to learn skills that the youth can bring back to help rebuild the communities, empower youth to face the challenges of growing up during these violent times, rebuilding the trust between law enforcement and the community, addressing issues specifically impacting young men and young women and providing resources that will allow young people to be financially responsible as they enter young adulthood.
