CURETON TRANSPORT LLC 4654324 | Government Grant Application

CURETON TRANSPORT LLC | Application Preview

CURETON TRANSPORT LLC is seeking government grants to support their startup costs in the transportation industry. The funds will be used to purchase used box trucks equipped with lift gates, estimated to cost between $8,000 to $10,000 each. Additionally, the business requires an MC Number (Operating Authority) for $300 and insurance costs ranging from $1,500 to $2,000.

For the first year, the owner plans to drive the truck themselves and will consider hiring a qualified driver after acquiring a second truck. The owner aims to secure contracts through load boards and connections with local and larger businesses. Currently employed as a contractor for FedEx, the owner has gained insight into the industry, including setting up an LLC, purchasing trucks, and contracting work. With a clean driving record and background, the owner is motivated to operate independently.

Despite saving $5,000 through overtime, which is no longer available, the owner recognizes the high income potential in this sector and is close to finalizing a contract with Need It Now Delivers in Columbus, Ohio.

CURETON TRANSPORT LLC emphasizes a lack of competition in their local market, citing a greater demand for drivers than available supply. The owner believes their clean driving and background records provide a competitive advantage in landing contracts with companies.

  • Business Plan

So initially I will be the only driver for the first year. After that, I will purchase another truck and hire a qualified driver. I will be getting contracts through load boards as well as local and big business. Currently I work as a contractor for FedEx. My boss has taught me how to do exactly what he does (creating an llc, purchasing trucks, and getting multiple contracts). I have a clean driving record and background. My mentality is centered around being my own boss. I make someone else thousands of dollars each month driving so I know I can do it myself. I was only able to save about $5,000.00 which isn't sufficent enough. It took a lot of overtime working to accrue that 5k and right now we don't have any overtime available so it isn't exactly feasible for me to save more. The income potential regarding this type of work is great and I am already in the process of contracting with Need It Now Delivers in Columbus, Ohio. They have already promised me the contract I just need to get started.

  • Self Identified Competition

The beauty of the transport business is that we truly don't have any competition due to the fact that there is more work than drivers available; This is especially true in Ohio. I Honestly can't think of who my competitors would be. As stated above I don't have any competitors, however, lets say another driver is my competition; most people don't have clean background and driving records, and that will work to my advantage with certain companies.
