Trifecta Traffic 33-4567589 | Government Grant Application

Trifecta Traffic | Application Preview

Trifecta Traffic, a woman-owned startup based in Wyoming, is seeking a $3,000 government grant to support participation in the MIT Entrepreneurship Development Program – Wyoming Cohort. This program, backed by the Governor’s Office and Wyoming Innovation Partnership, represents both a personal development opportunity for the founder and a strategic growth opportunity for the company.

Founded in April, Trifecta Traffic supplies traffic and safety barriers made of concrete, plastic, and recycled rubber to contractors and DOT projects. The company emphasizes sustainability, work zone safety, and long-term economic development. In its first five months, it has secured contracts with local clients and is actively bidding on major state projects, despite limited funding and its founders foregoing salaries to reinvest in operational growth.

The grant would offset expenses for airfare, lodging, and meals during the five-day program, allowing the founder to gain advanced entrepreneurial training and build key connections. These experiences are expected to sharpen the company’s scaling strategy, which aims to reach $5 million in annual revenue and employ 25 full-time staff over the next five years. Plans include expanding sales operations, opening regional locations, and increasing national competitiveness.

Trifecta Traffic stands out from competitors like 48 Barriers and Traffic Safety Warehouse by offering a diverse inventory—including sustainable options—while also promoting diversity as a woman-owned enterprise. Its mission focuses on safer infrastructure and community impact.

Approving this grant supports not only a single entrepreneur but also a business poised to bring innovation, job creation, and industry leadership to Wyoming’s growing construction sector.

  • Funding Usage

I am honored to have been accepted into the MIT Entrepreneurship Development Program – Wyoming Cohort, a prestigious opportunity hosted by the Governor’s Office and the Wyoming Innovation Partnership. This program represents a major step not only for my personal growth as a business leader but also for the advancement of Trifecta Traffic and the broader Wyoming entrepreneurial ecosystem. A $3,000 grant will directly fund my participation in the MIT program by covering airfare, hotel accommodations, and meals for the duration of the five-day cohort. This investment is especially critical because, as we scale the business, the owners (myself included) have elected not to take a salary, choosing instead to reinvest every dollar into building a strong foundation for long-term growth. Without grant support, the personal cost of travel would present a significant barrier to participating in this transformative program. The skills, insights, and connections I will gain through this program will directly strengthen Trifecta Traffic’s growth trajectory while enabling me to bring greater value to my community and to Wyoming’s construction industry. This grant represents not only support for one entrepreneur but also an investment in fostering innovation, economic development, and safer, more sustainable infrastructure across our region.

  • Business Plan

Over the next five years, Trifecta Traffic is focused on deliberate, sustainable growth that positions our company as a trusted partner to contractors, municipalities, and Departments of Transportation nationwide. Our primary growth strategy centers on scaling revenue to $5 million annually and building a dedicated team of 25 skilled professionals. To achieve this, we will expand our sales operations beyond our current inside sales team by adding a proactive outside sales force tasked with securing regional and national accounts. At the same time, we will continue leveraging Building Connected and Construct Connect platforms, as well as regional networking opportunities, to create consistent deal flow with top-tier contractors and DOT projects. A key pillar of our growth strategy is geographic expansion. While headquartered in Evanston, Wyoming, we will establish physical locations in strategic regions across the country to align more closely with our customers’ project sites. This expansion will enable us to reduce shipping costs, improve delivery times, and enhance competitiveness in high-demand markets. Equally important, Trifecta Traffic is committed to advancing industry priorities by supplying products that promote work zone safety and supporting sustainable infrastructure solutions through our recycled rubber barrier offerings. By integrating innovation and sustainability into our growth strategy, we will strengthen our position as both a reliable supplier and an industry leader driving positive change. Through these combined efforts, Trifecta Traffic will transition from a regional startup into a nationally recognized business, creating jobs, strengthening partnerships, and contributing to safer, more sustainable infrastructure across the country. Grant funding for my participation in the MIT Entrepreneurship Development Program – Wyoming Cohort is an investment not just in me personally, but in the future of my business, Trifecta Traffic, and the communities we serve. Trifecta Traffic is a new company, launched in April, that supplies construction and DOT projects with traffic and safety barriers in concrete, plastic, and recycled rubber for clients seeking sustainable solutions. In just five months of operation, we have already secured contracts with Wyoming Downs and the Evanston Chamber of Commerce and are actively bidding with major contractors and the Wyoming DOT. Our growth trajectory is strong, but as with many early-stage businesses, resources are limited. At this time, the owners, including myself, have chosen not to take a salary so that every available dollar can be reinvested into operations and growth. The $3,000 grant would directly cover the essential travel expenses—airfare, hotel, and meals—required to attend the cohort in Cheyenne. Without these funds, the personal financial burden of participating in this prestigious program would present a significant barrier, despite my acceptance into the cohort. The return on this investment is substantial. The program, led by MIT’s Bill Aulet, will provide world-class entrepreneurial training, access to the Disciplined Entrepreneurship framework, and the chance to collaborate with peers and mentors from across Wyoming. I will return from this program with sharpened skills, a stronger growth strategy, and connections that will directly contribute to scaling Trifecta Traffic to $5M in revenue and 25 employees within five years. More importantly, I will be positioned to apply these lessons not only to my business but also to the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem, sharing knowledge, supporting regional businesses, and advancing industry priorities such as work zone safety and sustainable infrastructure solutions. By supporting this request, grant funders enable me to fully participate in a transformative program that will accelerate my company’s success, create jobs, and strengthen the entrepreneurial and construction landscape in Wyoming and beyond.
