Fantasy Inn | Application Preview
Fantasy Inn is seeking a government grant totaling $100,000, with $75,000 aimed at purchasing the establishment and $25,000 dedicated to upgrading the kitchen and renovating two upstairs apartments for rental purposes.
The business plan involves converting the upstairs apartments into rental units, expanding the menu offerings, and transforming the bar into a sports bar equipped with cable and televisions. This redesign is intended to attract a broader clientele and includes plans for weekly pool tournaments.
The application highlights the background of the owners, two honorable discharged veterans, who wish to run a business in their retirement years. The current owners have served the community for 43 years and are now ready to retire. The applicants emphasize the importance of preserving this local establishment, especially given the challenges faced by many businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In terms of competition, Fantasy Inn faces other local establishments such as Ozzy, a small dance club, and private clubs like Eagles and the American Legion. However, Fantasy Inn offers a competitive advantage by being open to the public and catering to all age groups, unlike its competitors that target specific demographics. The proposal aims not only to sustain but also to enrich the community by keeping this long-standing business operational.
