Gatherings In SoCo, LLC | Application Preview
Gatherings In SoCo, LLC is seeking government grants to enhance restroom accessibility by completing a ramp and landings, furthering their commitment to local children and the broader community. The business aims to grow through targeted advertising, marketing, and networking, leveraging its outdoor event venue's appeal. By improving the grounds with amenities like potable water and permanent restrooms, they plan to attract visitors from surrounding areas, benefiting local businesses and helping community growth.
The business is particularly focused on uplifting a neighboring under-resourced community, as highlighted by the 88% poverty rate in the area per the ALICE report. Their long-term vision includes hiring unskilled workers as they expand and investing in their own event setup equipment.
While competition includes local indoor venues and a barn venue in a nearby county, Gatherings In SoCo boasts advantages such as a larger capacity of 250 people and onsite parking. Their flexible approach allows for a variety of outdoor events, personalized to client needs, subject only to county regulations. The business aspires to inspire further economic development in the community through its success.

Business Plan
Thru advertising, marketing, Chamber of Commerce networking, networking with related business partners and creating a great reputation with all our clients we will grow our business. The market is right for outdoor event venues. We have made our grounds more attractive by providing basic amenities such as running potable water and permanent restroom facilities. Our business would help bring people in from surrounding localities, including some staying overnight thereby supporting other local businesses and growth to the community. As the community prospers so shall we. We have a high percentage of unskilled workers in our area and as we grow, the need to hire additional service staff will also grow. Within the next five years I expect that we will purchase our own selection of tents, chair and tables and have our own staff to set up and strike them. We are committed to the economic growth and and development of our local community. Our venue site shares a property line with a severely under resourced neighborhood. The ALICE report states an 88% poverty rate. We hope that the success of our business will improve the area and inspire other business to open, encouraging economic growth and improve the conditions for the families living in this neighborhood. This goal was shared by our Board of Supervisors in granting us the conditional use permit.

Self Identified Competition
There are a couple of indoor event/banquet venues in our area. They both have all the expected indoor amenities. One has on site parking, the other has street parking, some of which is a walk away. The capacity for both is around 150 ppl. The local fair grounds has limited open space but has numerous buildings of different sizes. Parking is a walking distance from the event area. Types of events allowed are limited by their governing board. In an adjoining county, there is a barn venue, which caters to weddings. They do not have access to free flowing water or restroom facilities. They have a permanent barn and their own supply of tables and chairs. Their parking is off site and they transport by golf cart. They can accommodate up to150 ppl. Our space is very open and can accommodate 250 ppl with onsite parking. We are able to host all types of small events suitable to the outdoors. We can put up a tent or hold an event in the open. We are privately owned and have the flexibility to personalize any event based on the needs of the client. Are limitations are dictated only by us and our county regulations.
