Brock's BBQ is seeking government grants to fund an expansion into a food truck operation and purchase a larger wood-fired smoker. The funds will also be used to hire employees and source ingredients locally. The business plan includes enhancing social media engagement by sharing enticing images of menu items and the cooking process to attract a larger customer base.

The applicant highlights the significance of being the first BBQ venture in Orlando, Florida, with a commitment to using local ingredients such as Florida livestock and specialties like smoked fish and gator, along with incorporating Florida citrus into their smoking process.

In terms of competition, Brock's BBQ identifies several food trucks in the area but distinguishes itself by emphasizing a unique approach focused on bold flavors using exclusively Florida-sourced ingredients. The applicant believes this local focus will set them apart and resonate with the community in Orlando. Overall, the grant funding aims to support a fresh and locally-inspired BBQ experience.

  • Funding Usage

I would be using the funds to expand into a Food Truck, larger wood fired smoker, hire employees, source locally

  • Business Plan

I'll continue to grow my social media presence, posting pictures of menu items, cooking process, etc. Expand into a Food Truck and larger smoker to increase production of smoked meat for a larger audience. And eventually setup a brick and mortar restaurant. I'm reaching out for a Florida grant, because I'll be the first Florida BBQ in Orlando. I want to source locally with Florida live stock, have famous Florida specialties such as smoked fish and gator, and use Florida citrus / citrus wood to smoke with.

  • Self Identified Competition

Up in Smoke Food Truck, Smoke n Donuts Food Truck, Grandma's BBQ Food Truck. None of my competitors are trying to use Florida ingredients to improve their food. In my opinion BBQ should have bold, impactful flavors, and I know I can bring that to Orlando.
