Midge's Kitchen | Application Preview
Midge's Kitchen is seeking government grants to support startup costs related to kitchen and catering equipment, marketing efforts, and a delivery vehicle. The business aims to enhance its services in 2022 by introducing a Meals to Go open-air refrigerator in a downtown location to cater to the lunchtime crowd. Plans also include hiring an additional employee to expand personal chef and meal prep services, along with relocating to a larger space to improve storage capacity and serve more clients.
Funding approval is justified by the business's commitment to providing healthy, allergen-free food options in a food-insecure area, while also supporting the local economy by sourcing ingredients from local farmers rather than large distributors.
In terms of competition, Midge's Kitchen faces local grocery stores, larger chains like Kroger, and various downtown restaurants. The kitchen's competitive edge lies in its dedication to scratch cooking with fresh, local ingredients, avoiding artificial additives, and offering unique cuisines like Thai and Indian that are unavailable elsewhere in the small city.

Business Plan
In 2022 I would like to add a Meal's to Go open air refrigerator to a downtown location which will be accessible for the lunch rush. i would like to add an employee to help grow the personal chef/meal prep. I would like to find a larger space to lease in order to have more storage and take on more clients. My business provides a service to my community in access to healthy and allergen free foods in a food insecure area. My business also keeps money in the local economy by procuring as many ingredients as possible from local farmers instead of big box stores and distrubutors.
