Solis Handyman LLC | Application Preview
Solis Handyman LLC is applying for government grants to support their operations. The funds will primarily be allocated for payroll, covering credit card payments for three months, and handling the company vehicle payments for two months. The business prefers grants over loans to avoid adding to their existing financial burdens, as indicated by their profit and loss statement.
As part of their business plan, the owner, who holds a Master's in Business Administration from California Baptist University, has outlined a five-year growth forecast aiming for a 2% annual increase. This includes acquiring three property management clients in the fiscal year 2020 and expanding the workforce to ten employees with a focus on personnel administration.
The application emphasizes the potential impact of investing in the business. The owner highlights that the handyman industry is vital for economic growth and job creation, contributing to reduced unemployment and infrastructure improvements in California.
In terms of competition, Solis Handyman LLC identifies three main competitors: Just Better Maintenance, JB Renovation, and California Boring. The owner believes that their diverse skill set distinguishes them from competitors, as they take on both interior and exterior projects, including roofing, electrical work, and stucco repairs. Unlike their competitors, who primarily focus on specific types of jobs, Solis Handyman aims to provide a broader range of services. However, they face limitations due to maxed-out credit with suppliers like Home Depot, which they hope to resolve with additional funding.

We plan on using the funds for Payroll. Also, to pay our credit card payments for 3 months. Finally, we plan of paying our company vehicle payment for two months The only reason we don’t want a loan is because we have credit cards payment. Our company profit and lost statement indicates that we can’t afford to have another monthly payment.

Self Identified Competition
My top three competitors in our region are: 1) Just Better Maintenance 2) JB Renovation 3) California Boring California Boring is a well develop company. We plan to reach that status one day. Just Better Maintenance is a start up company as well. Finally, JB renovation is a company that recently hit 2.5 million in gross profit. The difference from our competitors is that we’re very diverse in skill level. For example: 1) JB renovation focuses on turnovers. A turnover is when they clean the apartment to make the apartment rentable again. A turnover consist of painting the apartment, cleaning the apartment, repairing drywall damages in the apartment, cleaning carpets and minor jobs like that. 2) Just Better Maintenance focuses on similar items as JB renovation. But, they also do fan installations and cabinets install. A few more apartment interior items. 3) California Boring does big city and state projects. Road projects and deals with huge projects. Which is our company goals to one day do government contracts. What makes us different is that we not only do interior jobs but exterior jobs as well. For example, we do roofing installation, electrical work, and stucco repairs. We want to ensure we’re diverse in the types of jobs we can do. In the other hand, diversity means that we have to purchase different tools. And our Home Depot cards are max, and we need to create some financial room to continue to use them.
