KS Tees and More | Application Preview
KS Tees and More is seeking government grants to improve its operations and increase profitability. The funds will be used to purchase apparel and ten heat press machines for inventory, as the current practice of ordering only as customer orders come in is financially unsustainable. The business owner plans to open a storefront to enhance visibility and service.
The main motivation for the funding is to move away from juggling a day job while trying to grow the business. By having a stocked inventory, the owner aims to meet customer demands quickly, as today's consumers expect immediate access to products. Currently, the business relies on vendors in China, which limits inventory and cash flow. Competitors with substantial stock levels can generate more revenue.
KS Tees and More offers a unique competitive advantage by allowing customers to design their products at in-store kiosks, charging a fee for using the heat press, and providing a rental option for the machines. This rental service includes a non-refundable deposit and a refundable condition-based deposit, enabling customers to use the equipment for a limited time. Investing in inventory and equipment will enable the business to operate more efficiently and capitalize on customer demand.

Funding Usage
To order apparel and 10 heat press machines to have on hand to fill orders. Right now I order as orders come in which has been hurting my business financially. I also do not have additional portable heat press machines to rent out to customers.

Business Plan
I will open a store front. It is hard to have a day job working for others and trying to grow my business so I don't have to do both. I want to have inventory stocked that I know will generate revenue. In the world we live in today customers are impatient and don't want to wait 3 weeks or a month for products. Right now I order from vendors in China and I can get a significant discount when I order in bulk. I am only breaking even right now.

Self Identified Competition
My competitors have huge in-house inventory at their storefronts. They are able to generate revenue. I allow the customer to actually design their product at a kiosk and charge fee if they use my heat press and purchase the tee shirts from me. I allow my customers to also rent a heat press for a deposit that is non-refundable and and additional deposit that is refunded once my machine is returned in the same condition. They can rent the machine for 72 hours only.
