Business Plan
We plan to grow through the addition of new classes and products following regional trends, adding evening music venues along the river and craft brew events, adding river access as a canoe livery, and sponsoring art festivals at the studio and local park. Our business has generated a lot of local community interest and support already, even without yet opening the doors. Our business is well thought out, offers multiple revenue generating items, and has multiple, unique discriminators that captures a large market segment. There is no immediate competition, the shop local movement is increasing momentum, there is an immediate need for the services within the community, students are returning to school and there are a lot of parents/caregivers with more time on their hands, and the leadership is a decorated MBA graduate.

Self Identified Competition
Our competition is a local canvas/acrylic art store that offers only private party events. However, the competitor store has not been open in the past 4 months. Michaels' craft stores are also located 26 miles and 16 miles away and may offer 2 or 3 of the classes we will. We may eventually have copycat competitors. We are not a large corporate entity with impersonal ownership and services. We have discriminators that they also lack, such as experienced understanding of the areas lack of activities that provide fulfillment and meaning to the community, classes that are not being offered such as ceramics, watercolor painting, and trending craft software classes. Our competitors lack the studio charm and historical storefront space of the 140 year old building space that we are renting. We also have a fantastic, large, covered patio space along the historical Little Juniata River available for daily use. We are a locally owned and operated business with a reputable family name in the local community and intend on capitalizing on the shop/support local movement.
