Jilib Jiblets 3ZDT-YGZL | Government Grant Application

Jilib Jiblets | Application Preview

Jilib Jiblets is seeking government grants to purchase a food truck or trailer, which will enable the growth of a catering business that has faced financial challenges due to the closure of a rented kitchen. The aim is to create a mobile kitchen that complies with Vermont standards, allowing the business to cater at various venues and events across the state.

The business plan involves hiring regular employees and expanding outreach to enhance profitability. Jilib also intends to take courses to improve knowledge and skills in operating a community food truck.

Reasons for funding approval include Jilib's outgoing nature, passion for traveling, and the ability to connect with people through food, music, and culture. Jilib believes this venture will not only generate income and create jobs in Vermont but also enrich the local community by introducing Somali culinary traditions.

Currently, there is little competition, as Vermont has only one Somali restaurant, thus presenting a unique opportunity to introduce Somali cuisine to a broader audience. Jilib's background, combination of culinary and musical talents, and commitment to community-building are highlighted as factors that set the business apart in the marketplace.

I would like to buy my own food truck or trailer that I can use my own kitchen and space. This will allow business to bloom, bringing in employees and profit. I anticipate the truck/trailer to be all up to date and to VT standards. Creating the catering business last year, I had a kitchen that I was able to run out of. that kitchen abruptly closed causing me to lose a lot of income.

  • Business Plan

I plan to have regular employees to call on to work. I vision having my own food truck/trailer that I am able to travel around the state and open up business to more venues and events. I plan to take courses and gain knowledge on how to grow and creating a community food truck. I believe investors should invest in me because I am an outgoing person who likes to travel and bring my food, music, and personality to the forefront. I am a team player and love making connections. I believe that I can bring more money and jobs to Vermont. While also providing my community with knowledge and experience of another culture.

  • Self Identified Competition

Currently, in the state of Vermont there are no Somali caters. We have one Somali restaurant in Burlington, VT. Bringing Somali food to the streets throughout the state will bring in a lot of profit. I am from Somalia and I am able to provide a new cultural cuisine to our state. I am a musician and have the personality to connect and interact with people. I believe there is more to running a business than just money. I want to create a community and be known as someone in this country. Not just another African American.
