Shampney & son's four season's landscping | Application Preview

Shampney & Sons Four Seasons Landscaping is seeking government grants to help sustain operations during the winter months. Their goal is to cover increased payroll costs for their crew, as well as expenses for maintenance materials needed to uphold their Green Pro certification, which limits the use of sand and salt during their services.

The business is planning to expand its workforce in 2022, driven by a strong demand for spring jobs, and intends to continue promoting its services through social media, word of mouth, and traditional advertising. They have already seen an increase of $200,000 in revenue compared to last year, indicating growth.

Shampney & Sons prides itself on being a dedicated and honest American company, with strong ties to local vendors to minimize material costs. With five years of operation and continual growth in clientele and staff, they emphasize their commitment to customer satisfaction and quality workmanship.

In the competitive landscape, they face rivals like Tasker Landscaping and K. Klough Landscaping, both of whom have been established longer and provide similar services. However, Shampney & Sons differentiates itself by focusing on client relationships, offering a one-year warranty on completed work, and sourcing quality products from a wider range of vendors. They also provide financing options for customers through a partnership with Enerbank, enhancing their competitive edge.

  • Funding Usage

We want to obtain funds to maintain operations in the winter. We have multiple consumers we service in the state and have obtained a Green Pro certification which controls how much sand and salt we utilize during treatments. The cost for this maintenance is extensive and requires a higher pay for our crew due to the expected extra work/documentation. We want to utilize the funds to offset the higher payroll and help fund the maintenance material required for our certification.

  • Business Plan

We plan to add more employees to our crew in the 2022 season as we have already started to book jobs for the Spring. We plan to keep advertising on Social Media, Word of Mouth and through advertising. Between last year and this year we have already grossed 200,000 more in revenue. We are dedicated, work all hours and run and honest American company. We use local vendors for materials and have long standing relationships with them which helps us keep material costs down. We have been in business for 5 years and have grown each year with our clientele and staff.

  • Self Identified Competition

Tasker Landscaping is a competitor offering similar services as we do. They have been in the business for longer than us and have a well established clientele. They focus on lawn maintenance, landscape design, and hardscape. K. Klough Landscaping has been in the business 10 years. They offer the same services as us and has a different clientele area than us. Lawn Services, Landscape design, and some hardscape services are provided. Globe Green Landscaping is smaller than us and offers a simpler service structure. They focus on lawn maintenance. We focus on the client and the quality of our work. We warranty our work for 1 year after completion, build a relationship with them, and will focus on their satisfaction when the job is done. We work with several vendors outside of Home Depot or Lowes to provide a better quality product that will last for years to come. We also work with Enerbank as a financer so we are able to offer Financing to our consumers.
