True North Grass and Snow LLC | Application Preview
True North Grass and Snow LLC is seeking government grant funding to expand its operations and improve its service offerings. The funds would be utilized to acquire an additional plow truck, a plow, a sander, and necessary equipment for lawn restoration, such as a skid steer and compost spreader. Hiring an extra employee to assist during the plowing season and for lawn care next year is also a priority, alongside increasing insurance coverage to secure commercial accounts.
The company's business model emphasizes eco-friendly practices, utilizing organic compost and grass seed without chemicals or pesticides. With a commitment to sustainable landscaping, True North has garnered positive word-of-mouth and aims to attract environmentally conscious clients. The owner brings over 25 years of experience in healthcare, which informs their dedication to customer service and satisfaction in their new venture, fostering a business ethos centered around treating customers with care.
In a competitive landscape dominated by larger companies like True Green of Maine and Maine-ly Lawns, True North differentiates itself through its commitment to environmentally safe practices and personalized service. By focusing on customer care rather than profit, True North has successfully attracted clients dissatisfied with the service of its competitors. The company believes that by adhering to its core values and prioritizing the health of the environment, it can carve out a niche in the landscaping market.

Funding Usage
I need another plow truck and plow, as well as a sander for one of my trucks. I need to hire an employee to help with the plow season, and also with lawns next year. I need to increase my insurance coverage in the hopes I can land some commercial accounts. I certainly need another plow truck regardless, for I need something if my one and only truck and plow breaks. I'd love some better equipment so I don't fear that my used older equipment may break. I'm hoping to grow my lawn restoration aspect, which requires me to own a skid steer and a compost spreader. All of these things are expensive, and in this current there is very little to no used equipment available.

Business Plan
Other than gas for my truck and mowers, my business is 100% green. I restore lawns with quality compost, grass seed, and hard work. I refuse to use chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, and the like in any aspect. There has been some decent word of mouth business because I'm 100% green. I plan to market and advertise wisely, and to hire the best people, and pay them what they deserve . I will add the right equipment to increase my plowing and lawn care business. And I know there is a huge niche of clients that desire a great and beautiful lawn, yet like me, refuse to use chemicals to obtain it. My motto is use what the earth gives you. I spent 25 plus years working in healthcare. I worked in critical care cardiology, and was part of the life-saving team that saved a life almost daily. It was an extremely gratifying career. I left that job for mental health reasons. I started this career to do something I've always loved. Healthcare is the ultimate customer service role, for it is 99% selfless. My company is going to always build on a belief that practicing the golden rule will bring and keep customers. I get a lot of satisfaction of creating something very beautiful, and something I'm proud of. I'm doing what makes me happy. I feel very fortunate

Self Identified Competition
True Green of Maine Maine-ly lawns Terrapin landscape. They are larger commercial fleets with lots of capital and lots of employees. They use pesticides. I'm the little guy that competes with the Walmarts. That is always a challenge. I just lost a large plowing contract to one of them. As stated prior, I feel that I'm not about making tons of money. I want to provide excellent service, and protect the environment at the same time. They may seem like fairly basic talking points, but I assure you in this business I'm very unique. I've picked up 75% of my customers that were treated poorly, and were very unhappy with the service from previous landscape companies. And the next time you see a landscape company spreading something on a lawn or shrubs, ask yourself what's in that. Worse off, what are the possible risks of those chemicals to yourself, your children, your pets, your gardens, your drinking water, and your environment
