Bubble Queen Bath & Body | Application Preview
Bubble Queen Bath & Body is seeking government grants to fund their new pop-up shop in Washington Crown Center. The funding will be allocated towards flooring, displays, and a POS system, crucial for the success of the store. The founders are passionate about their business, which originated in a kitchen and has grown into a recognized local brand since 2019.
Their business plan includes transitioning from selling products at flea markets to offering an immersive retail experience. Customers will have the chance to create their own products, such as bath sprinkles and scrubs, and participate in fun activities like painting bath bombs. Additionally, they plan to expand their product line to include luxury items like candles and wax melts.
The founders emphasize their dedication and perseverance through challenges, including the impact of the pandemic on their previous careers. They have a strong desire to give back to the community, aiming to provide self-care products for those in need, especially individuals experiencing homelessness or struggling with mental health issues.
In terms of competition, they recognize brands like Lush and Buff City Soaps but differentiate themselves by focusing on customer engagement and community education. They aim to create a safe space for learning and personal growth, fostering the importance of self-care. The founders believe in the potential for their small business to thrive despite past hurdles, driven by their commitment to quality and community involvement.

Business Plan
We are planing on taking our business into a retail location because we believe we can expand on it further than flea markets and markets. We currently sell our products as finished and packaged. However we want to expand by having customers come in have an immersive experience into make and take products such a bath sprinkles, scrubs and more. We also want to host parties where kids can come in and paint their own bath bombs and more. We are going to continue to expand into other luxury products such as candles, wax melts, and more. I started this business in my kitchen. Saying “hey I could make that” and expanding it into a local name. Since 2019 I have started and stopped this business due to so many things out of my control. We started gaining traction last year and then Corona hit the nursing home my business partner and I both worked in. It crushed our spirits, and we put everything into helping our residents. Now we are both in different careers and have the ability to pursue this business full force and we’ve already become a local household name. We are ridiculous passionate about our business and we’ve done everything from driving hours to purchase supplies because it’s cheaper than shipping, to creating logos and labels ourselves, to using bed sheets and blankets as our table coverings to make this business work. When I say we started with NOTHING, we really did. We are starting our pop up shop in the mall from September - January and we’ve got high hopes that it will lead to bigger and better things. We are also looking for ways to give back to the community and once we are able to we want to provide normal and alternative bath and self care options to those experiencing homelessness, those that don’t have running water and those who live in shelters. We also want to help those who are suffering from depression and other mental diagnoses because when you are at your lowest, you don’t want to do anything, especially take care of yourself. We’ve learned about and tested our products and are always learning more and creating new things. I believe that this small business can work and thrive.

Self Identified Competition
Lush, and buff city soaps We are different because we have seen these businesses and we want to stand out. We want to provide opportunities to learn and give back to the community. We want to teach about more than soaps and bath bombs; we want to provide a learning experiencing that teaches everyone that it’s okay to take time for yourself. We want our space to be a safe space to hang out, learn and grow. Yes, we have similar products but it’s how they are made, why this business was started, how it was started and why we will continue even after we’ve hit obstacles and failures and more.
