Bai's Paradise 68-0589776 | Government Grant Application

Bai's Paradise | Application Preview

Bai's Paradise, a small business run by Jessica Williams, is applying for government grants to support its growth. The funding will be used for supplies, materials, advertising, and recruiting efforts. Jessica, a registered nurse with nearly a decade of experience, aims to transition from her current full-time job in a non-profit mental health hospital to running her own business.

The concept of Bai's Paradise was originally inspired by her son, Bailey, who is currently serving in the Air Force. The vision was to create a resale and service shop that embodies positivity and support, shielding Bailey from life's harsh realities. As a single mother, she faced challenges that delayed this dream, but her nursing career has deepened her understanding of the mental health crisis and compelled her to revive her vision.

Jessica intends to expand Bai's Paradise to not only help her daughter, who suffers from PTSD, anxiety, and depression, but also to assist others in need of healing through a holistic approach. She believes in the potential of her business to provide solace to those affected by the rising rates of mental health issues and substance abuse.

The competition includes home health agencies, health spas, and resale shops. However, Jessica's unique background and holistic approach as a mental health nurse provide her with a competitive edge. She is updating her business registration and expresses gratitude for the opportunity to be considered for the grant, emphasizing her commitment to making a difference in her community.

  • Business Plan

I plan to grow my small business into my main source of income over the next 5 years. I am currently full time employee, working as an admission's nurse for a non-profit mental health and detox hospital. i have worked without any lapses since obtaining my nursing licenses almost 10 years ago and throughout this whole pandemic. I would like to continue working as a nurse but for myself, owning my own small business, expanding and utilizing my nursing knowledge and expertise. My small business, almost 15-20 was originally created for my son, Bailey, who is now serving in the Air Force, currently stationed in Korea (hence the whole Bai's Paradise name). My vision was to have a resale and service shop, where everything and everyone was heavenly. He wouldn't know the evils or heartache of the world, only the good. Raising him as a single parent, this vision never took off. Fast forward to today, I now have become a registered nurse, working with some of the most vulnerable population, and no, I'm not talking about covid. I'm talking about the domino effect it has created. See, I am a mental health and detox nurse with a holistic approach. The world is hurting. The increase in drugs, alcohol, abuse, and depression has increased at alarming rates. This brought me back to my once vision, Bai's Paradise. I would like to expand this vision with my nursing knowledge and help heal this hurting world with a holistic approach. This time, it won't just be for my son, but for my now 15th year old daughter, who has ptsd/anxiety/depression due to the abuse she has suffered by her father. This Bai's Paradise will also include her, as well as, my grandson, Ky'ree, and all the hurting people in the world that are just looking for ‘a little sweet taste of heaven’ here on earth. You see, people say 'the sky's the limit..' I do agree with this, however one must first be given the opportunity to get off the ground. Again, thank you for taking me into consideration for this grant. Blessings, Jessica Williams, RN
