Amerasian Food Plus LLC | Application Preview
Amerasian Food Plus LLC, a Hmong-owned business, is applying for government grants to improve and expand its operations. The business has been family-owned since the early 2000s and has now passed to the owner's daughter. The requested funding will be used for renovations to the building, offering livable wages to employees, diversifying inventory based on customer demand, and expanding sourcing for food items from other states.
The business aims to create more job opportunities for the growing Hmong population and plans to collaborate with local universities to provide internships for Hmong students in fields such as graphic design, marketing, and content creation. Immediate needs include roof repairs and repaving the back parking lot to enhance accessibility for employees and services.
The application argues for funding approval by emphasizing the positive impact on the local economy, stating that supporting this business is a low-risk investment that fosters greater community service. While facing competition from other Asian markets and larger retailers, Amerasian Food Plus LLC maintains its competitive edge by specializing in authentic Asian grocery items that are not typically available in larger stores. This focus on niche products allows them to better serve their community's unique culinary needs.

Funding Usage
My parents have been operating this business starting in the early 2000's. Since then, they have done all that they can in just keeping the business running. My parent's has passed on the business to me now, their daughter. With this extra funding, I will have the opportunity to improve and expand this business such as: Fix/renovate areas in the business building, pay employees a livable wage, buy more items my customers are looking for, obtain more food items from different wholesales located in other states,

Business Plan
We are a Hmong owned business and as the Hmong population grows here, we would like to give more employment opportunities to the community as a way to support and provide stability in our Hmong community. The success of our business means success for our community. We would also like to reach out to the University and offer opportunities for Hmong students to intern at our business to provide them with experience with their field of studies before entering the workforce. These intern opportunities may consist of graphic design positions, marketing (social media, marketing analysis, photography/videography work, content creation). There are also a variety of physical improvements that will benefit our business as we continue to grow. As we grow, we may find a need to renovate the building or relocate to a building more suitable for our targeted audiences' needs, but as for current improvements that are needed; in the near future our roof will need to be replaced as we are experience issues during heavy weather conditions, as well as having our back parking lot re-paved so that our garbage services and employees can have better access to the back of the building. As a thriving business, the growth and success of our business and having more opportunities to expand will prove beneficial to our local economy. As a thriving business that is continuously growing each year, we are a low risk investment and investing in our company will only give us greater opportunities to serve a larger community.

Self Identified Competition
Our local competition include the other Asian markets such as 89 Oriental Market, Woodman's as they are beginning to carry a lot more Asian food items, and Festival Foods. We have a niche in Asian grocery items to provide our community with more authentic ingredients, produce and foods as compared to the selection of Asian grocery items that would be found at Wal Mart or Festival Foods. We have items that are more specialized in Asian cuisine that normally would not be found in larger establishments and we proudly provide that service to our community.
