20112924DC 7 jason rd | Government Grant Application

20112924DC | Application Preview

The business in application 20112924DC is seeking a total of $10,000 in government grants to support its charter services. The funding will cover the following expenses: $6,500 for a motor purchased on credit, $1,850 for securing a boat slip, $650 for boat repairs and fixing electronics, and $1,000 for payroll.

The applicant has been in business for a few years, initially conducting fewer than 10 charters annually. This year, after acquiring Snug Harbor Guide Service, they aim to complete over 60 jobs. In the next two years, there are plans to acquire a second boat and obtain an OUPV captain's license for ocean charters, with a long-term goal of expanding further with more boats and captains.

The applicant emphasizes their strong work ethic, having worked as a lineman for nearly 20 years, and expresses determination to succeed without relying on external support. They point out that there are only two comparable guides on Sebago Lake, both of whom are beginners and friends, which fosters a collaborative spirit in handling bookings.

Their competitive advantage lies in a deep familiarity with Maine waters, particularly Sebago Lake, coupled with their comfortable 25-foot boat featuring a cabin and toilet facilities. By offering food and snacks for clients, they strive to provide an exceptional and classy charter experience.

  • Business Plan

I started a few years ago and only had less than 10 charters a year. this year I bought snug harbor guide Service and planned on having 60+jobs. within the next 2 years , I plan on getting a second boat and getting my OUPV capt. license to charter in the ocean. eventually more boats and more captains. I have been a hard worker my whole life. as a lineman for almost 20 years, my body couldn't take the abuse anymore. I've worked hard for everything I have and have never asked for a hand out. this "hopefully" will be the only time.

  • Self Identified Competition

there are only 2 other guides on Sebago that can compare to me. and they are both just starting out. they are also friends, so when one of us are already booked we recommend somebody else I grew up around maine guides and fishing maine waters. fishing and sebago lake is bred into me, I know the lake like the back of my hand. I also have a beautiful and comfortable 25'boat that has a cabin with a toilet. I also provide food and snacks for my clients. I try to have the classiest and most productive boat on the water
