FORKING VEGAN LLC | Application Preview
The government grant application from FORKING VEGAN LLC outlines a vision for a unique dining and community space called "Planted Pod Park." The business plans to use the funds primarily for working capital, which includes leasing a space, purchasing and converting shipping containers for indoor and outdoor seating, hiring staff, setting up utilities, and managing inventory. The initial offerings will focus on plant-based and vegan cuisine, a bakery with desserts and superfood lattes, and a ramen shop, with the intention of creating opportunities for 4 to 5 other businesses to lease spots.
In the next five years, the goal is to expand this project into a multi-level pod park that supports more small businesses and fosters a sense of community and sustainability. There are aspirations to grow the concept further by incorporating a farm and a yurt or bed and breakfast, eventually spreading to other cities.
The application emphasizes the personal commitment of the founder, highlighting a strong background in the culinary field since childhood. The founder believes in creating connections and being a part of something bigger, showing determination to succeed despite challenges.
In terms of competition, the proposal claims that there are no direct competitors in Austin with a similar concept, making this venture a first for the area. The competitive edge lies in the intention to collaborate with local chefs and businesses, while focusing on healthier culinary options and sustainable sourcing, including plans for a greenhouse or farm that could supply the vendors directly.

Funding Usage
We want to open "Planted Pod Park" incorporating indoor and outdoor seating using shipping containers and all plant based/Vegan concept. We want to be able to provide the chance for 4 to 5 other businesses to be able to lease a spot. As of now looking at us offering plant based and vegan cuisine, a bakery/Cafe offering desserts and highlighting superfood lattees, and a ramen place. We already have found the space that would suit needs and can lease. So as far as funds We want to use as working capital including funds for lease, getting 3 to 4 shipping containers to start with including build out(depending on funding would like a few more to stack to offer more indoor seating), hiring staff, getting grounds setup including connections to hook up containers, inventory, interior and outside fix up. Eventually we would like to see this expand to multiple level pod park with adding a market and shopping.

Business Plan
In the next 5 years we would love to see this first start up project outgrow and turn into a multi level pod park that we are able to support more small businesses. We would like to create a place that has a full sense of community and sustainability. We would love the concept to move to a large land and incorporate a farm and yurt/bed and breakfast concept. After that it's about striving to push to get this concept into other cities. We believe this concept can be successful in other major cities as well but are extremely excited to be starting it in Austin. I believe we all have a calling. Whether the person wants to follow that calling or stand still that's their choice. I have been doing this since I was a kid working in the culinary world, 11 to be exact. I have seen the world shift as new concepts flood out but one thing remains. People crave connection, people want to feel they are apart of something bigger, and people want to be supported by people who aren't afraid to go after what they want. I work hard, I take direction well, and I have listened for years and years all the feedback and helpful tips. It's all led me to this moment to aim to be something bigger than what people usually intend for themselves. I don't believe in comfortable I believe growth happens when your uncomfortable. I've come to this mindset strongly awhile back when talking with a friend. I was telling him I just need to try and he strongly said there is no trying there is only doing. I will do this no matter what and push to bring this to reality.

Self Identified Competition
As far as competitors here in Austin. There is none. Not saying at all that there are not other local Vegan or small businesses but as far as concept for here this is first of its kind here. I have been working day and night to perfect this concept to make it original in a sense. As far as things that resemble I would say we are mixing green jeans or tin can alley in Albuquerque with Plant city Michael Kenneys all plant based food halls. The places in plant city are all his concepts which is absolutely amazing but we would like to work with other local businesses to highlight other talented chefs. And tin can alley and green Jean are more pub food or comfort. We want to incorporate alot of healthier concepts and sourcing from local growers. Our plan is to eventually as well start a green house or farm so our vendors can source straight from the property!
