[email protected] is seeking government grants to transition their business from a sole proprietorship to a limited liability company (LLC). The funding will help cover business expenses, including catching up on current costs, and support advertising efforts to attract employees instead of relying on contractors. The business has faced challenges in recruiting caregivers over the past six months, limiting the ability to accept new clients, despite strong demand for services.
The business owner emphasizes that with the right financial support, they could significantly expand their operations and better serve the community, which has increased demands for care services. With nearly five years of experience in the industry, the applicant believes they can transform contractors into employees, offer benefits, and lease office space, moving away from a home office setup.
In Dubuque County, the business stands out by offering Consumer Direct Attendant Care (CDAC), a service not provided by competitors such as Home Instead Senior Care and Comfort Care, which focus on homemaking services. This unique offering provides a competitive advantage, positioning the business to meet a pressing need in the community. The applicant believes that with the right funding, their million-dollar company can thrive and better serve clients who increasingly require assistance.

Business Plan
I would use money to advertise and take contractors and make them employees. Currently my business is haveing issues finding caregivers as contractors. I feel, if I could make these girls employees then I would get more applicants and be able to take on more clients. This not only helps my business, but it helps the community.ceints need us and I'm turning away referrals cause my current caregivers are full. And I can't seem to get more applicants- never been a issue until this last 6months. Out of 5 years in business. This is a million dollar company- If I could get some help to move forward. We could be extremely successful. Cleints are needing us more now than ever. I have been in business for 4 1/2 years- 5 years in OCT. If I got the help I needed. I would turn girls into employees, offer benefits and get a office again. Right now most of my work is done at home in my home office.

Self Identified Competition
I am the only company in Dubuque County, to offer Consumer Direct Attendant Care. My competitors would be- home instead senior care, comfort care, and above and beyond. Non of them offer (CDAC) . They offer homemaking, witch is close to CDAC, but not consumers directed attended care. I am the only agency in DBQ County to offer Consumer Direct attendant care.
