Kae Renee Naturals LLC | Application Preview
Kae Renee Naturals LLC is applying for government grants to enhance its handmade, all-natural beauty products. The funds will be fully invested into the business to address high costs associated with quality ingredients and product development, including extensive testing for recipe refinement. A significant portion of the grant will go toward building inventory and acquiring necessary equipment, like a stand mixer to expedite production, as the owner currently relies on a handheld immersion blender, which is time-consuming and inefficient.
The business also plans to invest in a dispenser machine to streamline packaging processes, reducing product waste and improving efficiency. Additionally, funding will be allocated for advertising campaigns to strengthen the brand's presence on social media platforms, vital for modern marketing.
Kae Renee Naturals has a clear business plan that includes partnerships with local beauty shops and participation in nationwide pop-up events to expand customer reach. Within five years, the owner envisions the establishment of a dedicated test kitchen and warehouse.
The owner emphasizes her honesty, hard work, and creativity as key qualities that make her a worthy investment. The brand aims to fill a gap in the market by offering a comprehensive range of products for hair, skin, and body care, particularly for individuals with thick, curly hair who struggle to find suitable options.
Kae Renee Naturals considers its main competitors to be Velousive, Cota Skin, and Ancient Cosmetics, which focus on niche markets. However, Kae Renee Naturals positions itself as a one-stop shop, catering to diverse self-care needs without the limitations of specialized brands. The owner expresses a commitment to growth and learning, seeking investors who believe in her determination and vision for the brand.

Funding Usage
If I won this money I would invest 100% of it into my business. Going into this, I knew creating this business would be costly but I don’t think I completely grasped how costly it would be. Because all of my products are handmade and 100% natural, the ingredients I use to make them can be very expensive. Recipe creating is a whole expense within itself. When I come up with a recipe I have to test it numerous times to get the desired product which can sometimes drive up my expenses. A large amount of the money would be used to build my supply inventory. I will also use the money to buy equipment that could assist me in the making of my products. I’m a college graduate fresh out of school trying to make things happen for myself. So at this time the only equipment I have is a hand held immersion blender and a scale. Blending my products with an handheld blender sometimes can take me hours because I have to get the product to the correct consistency by whipping, then putting the product back into the fridge, and repeating until I have the desired consistency. If I had a stand mixer it would help cut that time and effort completely in half. Bottling and packaging my products can be very difficult as well. Imagine trying to get a thick creamy product into a jar or bottle with a small hole, it’s a nightmare to say the least! I also waste a lot of product by the way I’ve been operating, which is very upsetting. So I want to invest in a dispenser machine. Lastly, I would use the money to pay for paid advertisements to get the name of my brand out as much as possible. Social media presence is so important when branding these days so I want to make sure I have advertisements on all the large social media platforms.

Business Plan
I plan to get my name & brand out more by partnering with local beauty shops, salons, and beauty supply stores by selling my products to them to sell in their stores. I also plan to attend numerous pop up shops country wide to network and connect with new customers and other business owners. In 5 years, I see my business being able to fund our own test kitchen and warehouse. Investors should invest in me because I am a honest, hardworking, educated, and creative individual. My business is a hand made, all natural, organic and vegan based beauty brand. We have products for all your hair, skin, & body needs. The idea of my brand arose from challenges I’ve had all my life. It’s always been a struggle to find products that work well in my thick, curly, hair. The market is so small and there aren’t a lot of options to choose from so I wanted to be the change in the market. So if an investor takes a chance on me and my business, know you’re investing in helping 100’s of people who run into the same challenges as me when it comes to their self care.

Self Identified Competition
Velousive- an online natural hair care brand. They cater towards kinky hair types. Providing customers with a variety of products such as styling agents, oils, & conditioners. Cota skin- A female owned skincare business. Their products are known for producing great results for damaged skin. Especially in women of color. Ancient cosmetics- Another female owned skin and body care business. They produce handmade products daily & prides themselves on being a business that produces quality products over quantity. What makes my business different than my competitors is the fact that my business is a one stop shop! You can get products for all your needs: hair, skin, and body. There is no need to shop around on different websites for your different needs when Kae Renee Naturals has everything you need. When you’re shopping with my competitors you will be limited to certain types of products but my business will have endless options for all your self care needs. You should invest in my brand over theirs because I’m putting in blood, sweat and tears to build my brand. Nobody wants this more than me. Not saying those businesses didn’t put in work, but they all have social media influencers that they paid to promote their businesses to help them grow. Me on the other hand, I’m not as fortunate so I have to put in hard work before I can get to that point. I’m open and willing to learn, listen, and grow with anyone who is willing to take a chance a me.
