Funding Usage
I would use this funding to expand our business and create jobs in lower-income communities. Job Training- $7,680 I want to create at least 4 job opportunities within the first month of grand opening. I would pay each employee $15 hourly working 4 days a week for 8 hours a day. I would be paying $6 over the nations average wage for a food worker which is $9.90. This is my monthly budget for training pay. Construction- I got a contractors estimate on the cost of the work that would be needed in order to get the building in working condition. He estimated it at $30,000 This would include all repairs needed such as electrical, roofing, floors, walls, parking lot and water lines. Supplies/Equipment- $35,000 Based on research in order to be in compliance with the health department and have everything I need to successfully sale hot food I estimate the cost of all supplies and equipment $35,000 Supplies would include everything needed in food service such as plates, silver ware, bags, soap, paper towels, cleaning materials condiments etc. Equipment would include things such as refrigerator, freezers, stove, oven and deep fryers and POS system. Security System- $3,500 I want to insure safety for not only my employees but my customers as well. If I create a safe environment it will bring about more customers and willing employees. No one would feel eager to work or shop in a workplace where they don’t feel protected at all times. Also to increase safety we will only accept card or contactless payments. Not using cash will help control loss and also lessens the chance of thief inside or outside of the business.

Business Plan
Once I’m able to manage being open for 4 days a week I plan on being open for 7 days a week. I’m doing this it will not only create a tremendous amount of income but most importantly it will create numerous jobs within the black community. 2 years after the grand opening of the first location the 2nd location will be ready to open doubling the annual income of the 1st location and creating twice as many jobs as the original location. I know this business with proper investment we would be able to secure a location twice the size in a much busier area. My goal is to expand every 2 years or less. Thus becoming a small franchise throughout the state of Louisiana. I also want to provide free courses to all full time employees that will teach them how to become an entrepreneur and how to open a business starting from nothing. This will create a cycle of general wealth and knowledge that lower income communities need in order to break the cycle of being lower- income. After the first 5 years of business I project a total sales from at least 3 locations to be $7,560,000 You should invest in me because investing in me would be investing into the community. If I am awarded a grant or given a loan that will ultimately end finacial poverty within my family but I could show others how to do the same. My business is more than selling food. It’s about bringing the community together through a common love and that is food. I want to place my business in a lower income community because I know down the line I would start to increase the value of the community. I would start by donating to the local schools, organizing a free garden, and contribute to keeping the area clean. I will be able to bring hope back to communities that have been abandoned or over run with business owners who won’t take the same measures I will in order to bring about true change. I will encourage the people of the communities to get involved with incentives such as free meals, free educational courses on business ownership and multiple job opportunities. It is time to help my community to get out of this poor mindset and step into the greatness that I know it could be if we worked together.

Self Identified Competition
Currently I don’t think any one could compare to my vision or plan therefore I have no competitors. My success will not be based on the success of others but by the positive outcome of the work we will be putting into the community. Like most food business in Baton Rouge Louisiana they sell pork and serve the community that are considered non-muslim. My plan is to also target the Muslim community by make all my food halal. The Muslim community is growing every year and by targeting them as customers I will be catering to a diverse community. As of right now the number of Muslims living in Louisiana is 4.7 million. There are very few restaurants in Baton Rouge that cater to Muslim and non Muslim communities. My family is Muslim and is very well known in the Muslim community so networking and bringing in sales would be easier than expected.
