Faithful Seeds Farm | Application Preview
Faithful Seeds Farm is seeking government grants to build a commercial kitchen on their property to produce and distribute elderberry syrup. The business aims to manufacture syrup from elderberries, which they have already planted and expect to harvest this fall. With a growing demand for immune-boosting products, they hope to provide a natural solution through their elderberry syrup, promoting health and creating job opportunities in the community.
The owners are passionate and dedicated, having pursued this business for over four years. They emphasize their commitment to quality, highlighting that their syrup is made without preservatives, sugar, or high fructose corn syrup, using only organic and predominantly locally sourced ingredients.
While there are larger companies selling elderberry syrup, the owners believe there is ample room in the market due to recurring requests for their product. They are currently unable to meet demand without a dedicated kitchen facility, thus justifying their request for funding to enhance production capabilities and support their long-term goals.

Business Plan
We plan to hire employees and be able to manufacture elderberry syrup at our farm. We have already planted elderberry trees and bushes which will start to produce berries this coming fall. There is a need for boosting immune systems and we hope to play a big part in providing the natural syrup that helps with that. Not only do we plan to manufacture elderberry syrup that can be sold retail in stores, putting this health-boosting syup in more homes. Included in our 5 year plan is to, be able to hire employees, helping with the increasing lack of job opportunities right now. Although it is just my husband and myself who are starting this business, we are a thousand percent dedicated and the hardest workers you could fine. We don't give up, and strive fervently to achieve our goals! It is our dream to be able to help others with our natural health products. Not only is it a dream, but it is also a burning desire that we have been working for, for over 4 years now. Each step we make at our farm is a step closer to achieving our goals.

Self Identified Competition
To be real honest, I have not found a competitor yet. Yes, there are people who sell elderberry syrup, big companies even. But there isn't enough to go around. Every single day I get requests for our syrup and I am continually making elderberry syrup. I have had several health businesses ask us to sell our syrup retail, and although we can rent a commercial kitchen in town, it is cost-prohibitive to do it long term. We need to have the kitchen on our farm. Our elderberry syrup is not made using preservatives, sugar, or high fructose corn syrup. We use only organic ingredients, mostly local that we harvest ourselves and raw honey. The benefits that you receive from our syrup far surpasses what is on the market currently.
