Posture of a PEARL 2020704395 | Government Grant Application

Posture of a PEARL | Application Preview

The government grant application from Posture of a PEARL outlines a comprehensive plan aimed at supporting at-risk girls through various initiatives. The funding will be utilized for transportation to service programs, healthy food options, acquiring space for mentoring, purchasing engaging curriculum, compensating facilitators, supplying necessary materials for the youth, and organizing graduation celebrations along with continued support for their transition into college and adult life.

Additionally, the program addresses the concerns of at-risk girls and their families as outlined in the book "Complete Transparency," which serves as a resource for connecting families with licensed clinicians for mental health guidance.

The business plan proposes to present this program as an after-school elective, collaborating with school therapists to identify children who exhibit at-risk behaviors. Initially, the plan targets all public middle and high schools.

The funding request is justified by the program's potential to prevent at-risk girls from entering the system, which often results in costly government support for food and housing, particularly in the prison system. The program aims to enhance confidence, self-esteem, and mental health while connecting participants with professionals who can provide guidance in business and entrepreneurship, ultimately encouraging them to contribute positively to society.

In terms of competition, the program identifies three leading organizations: Big Brother Big Sisters, The Boys and Girls Club, and the YWCA. However, the competitive edge lies in the personalized approach that focuses on individual needs with mentors who will maintain connections into adulthood.

This will help build their confidence, self esteem, mental health, and engage them with business men and women who are willing to share business practices and offer business and entrepreneurship advice to guide into being productive in society.
