We Rock The Spectrum 85-0530047 | Government Grant Application

We Rock The Spectrum | Application Preview

We Rock The Spectrum is seeking government grants to sustain its operations as a gym and play space dedicated to children with special needs. The funding will be utilized primarily for rent, payroll, and bills, as the owner has faced financial difficulties and has been unable to pay herself since the business opened on January 23, 2021, during the pandemic.

The business plan involves partnering with a therapy company to offer 1-on-1 therapy sessions within the facility, enhancing the resources available for families in the community. The owner emphasizes the importance of maintaining this space, as it offers vital support to parents and children with disabilities, particularly as a single mother of a child on the spectrum.

While there are other indoor play areas, none provide the specialized therapy equipment or an inclusive environment that We Rock The Spectrum offers. The facility is fully handicap accessible, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all children. The owner shares her personal experiences of feeling uncomfortable in other spaces and aims to ensure that no other parent feels the same way in this supportive environment.

To keep doors open. This is a gym/play place for kids specifically children with special needs. I need to pay rent/payroll and bills. I havent been able to pay rent and have never paid myself

  • Business Plan

I am looking to partner with a therapy company where they can rent out a room and have 1-1 therapy with their children who have special needs. I want to stay open for the community as there is no other resources like this for parents and kids. I opened during the pandemic 1/23/21 and want to have the chance to make my very special place thrive. I know how important it is to myself as a single mother of a child on the spectrum. It is also so important to so many other parents and care takers of children with disability.

  • Self Identified Competition

Other indoor play ground places but there are none around here with the specialized therapy equipment and where everyone is included. Handicap accessible throughout the gym. This is a place where ALL children can feel comfortable. Before I discovered this amazing space I was not comfortable taking my child anywhere. I would get stares and bad looks from all the parents of neurotypical children.
