the Freedom Isn't Free ride | Application Preview
The Freedom Isn't Free ride is applying for government grants to cover operating costs for its program administration. Their business plan aims to enhance community engagement, boost name recognition, and foster partnerships with local real estate agencies, all while shining a light on the challenges faced by homeless veterans. The organization intends to expand its reach into other states and raise awareness about the specific plight of families of veterans, who often fall through the gaps in existing support programs.
The funding is crucial because while various initiatives exist for veterans, they typically focus on single veterans or those with children, leaving family units without adequate support. Many current programs do not provide sufficient assistance in securing housing that accommodates veterans' unique needs, such as specialized therapy equipment or caregiving arrangements. By collaborating with real estate agents familiar with veterans' requirements, the organization helps find suitable housing and covers the security deposit, which is later returned to support more veterans.
There are no direct competitors addressing this issue, giving the organization a unique position in the market. Founded by a veteran who has faced similar struggles, the organization is particularly equipped to advocate for those dealing with severe PTSD and other challenges. Their focus on providing tailored housing solutions not only aids veterans in finding homes that meet their needs but also works to combat the alarming rate of veteran suicides, one individual at a time.

Business Plan
The organization will grow through increased community presence, name recognition, increased veteran referrals, partnership with local real estate agencies, increased awareness program about homeless veterans and why they fall through the cracks of existing programs, supply and demand, expansion into other states. Although programs exist to assist veterans, they cater mainly to single veterans or those with children. A family unit of a veteran and spouse falls through the cracks. Additionally many programs do not assist veterans in finding adequate housing for their needs i.e. physical therapy equipment and/or occupational therapy equipment or accommodations for caregivers who need to live with the veteran. Our organization deals with real estate agents acquainted with the needs and requirements of veterans to place them in housing units that meet such needs and requirements. Once housing is found the organization provides the landlord with the security deposit required to secure it. Said security deposit is then returned to the organization upon termination of the lease so as to assist other homeless veterans in need. Being homeless is expensive and many veterans exhaust their savings while looking for adequate housing. Our services help these veterans get housing which meets their needs and requirements while helping them maintain their dignity and helping stem the 22 a day veteran suicide crisis one veteran at a time.
