Innkeeper Hospitality Services fbo Hotel Blackhawk | Application Preview
Innkeeper Hospitality Services is seeking government grant funding to support Hotel Blackhawk, which has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, the hotel operates with 22 full-time equivalents (FTEs), many of whom have faced salary reductions. The primary use of the funding would be to maintain jobs and restore staff levels back to their previous count of 92 FTEs. Additionally, they run a program providing free meals to furloughed employees and their families, which they wish to continue.
The business plan includes expanding their workforce to regain its full capacity and highlights recent capital improvements made prior to the pandemic, such as new furniture and upgraded facilities. Hotel Blackhawk has the potential to generate over $8 million in annual revenue, thanks to its longstanding reputation for hospitality and commitment to supporting local vendors.
The grant funding is considered essential due to the pandemic's effects on operations. The hotel, a historic landmark in Davenport with over 100 years of history, was revitalized in 2010, contributing positively to the local community and downtown area.
In terms of competition, the hotel faces rivals such as the Hilton Garden Inn and The Element, among others. However, it stands out due to its affiliation with the Autograph Collection by Marriott, its historical significance, community involvement, and unique blend of old-world charm and modern amenities.

Funding Usage
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have reduced our staff to around 22 FTEs. Of those 22 FTE, most took salary reductions. We would largely use the funding to keep people working and bring them back to work. In addition, during the pandemic we have a program in which we are preparing free meals for furloughed associates and their families daily. We would like to continue this program.

Business Plan
We would like to be able to have a full work staff, back to the 92 FTE number. We have also made several capital improvements over the last year prior to the pandemic i.e. new furniture, new wifi, and building repairs. The property has the potential to do well beyond 8 million in revenue a year with our continued tradition of hospitality and supporting local vendors. The COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted our business. The property has been a part of Davenport for over 100 years. We restored this landmark in 2010 and brought it back to its former glory. This hotel is part of the community and the downtown has flourished because of its transformation.
