TRIMS 83-2614577 | Government Grant Application

TRIMS | Application Preview

TRIMS is applying for government grants to fund the completion and enhancement of a barbershop. The applicant, having faced financial challenges in the past, needs additional resources to finish construction, including plumbing, drywall, flooring, and electrical work. Funding will also be allocated for advertising and community contributions, such as providing services to local schools and initiatives related to COVID-19.

The business plan focuses on expanding client offerings by creating a more engaging environment, including entertainment options and activities for clients while they wait. The applicant believes that investing in this barbershop would ultimately generate tax revenue and contribute positively to the community.

In terms of competition, there are two other barbershops in the area, one of which has received negative feedback regarding service quality. The applicant's competitive advantage lies in their focus on creating a comfortable atmosphere, professional credentials, and a commitment to high-quality service, highlighted by the planned aesthetic improvements and marketing strategies that distinguish the shop from competitors.

  • Funding Usage

I got a building up, with the $4,260.21 I lost in 2019. I still need to buy more material and pay someone to finish what I done started. The plumbing needs finishing. The drywall is not done. My floors has to be finished and my electric. I will use these funds also for advertising my shop and from time to time pay back to the community (freebies-school / covid 19 etc...). I need to maintain the shop appearance inside and outside, so someone will have to take care of those duties. Shop materials (clippers, solutions, sinks, chairs, etc...) will have to be accounted for.

  • Business Plan

I plan to extend my business, growing another client, security, and bringing more entertainment to my clients like games, exercise activities, and relaxing times for them while they are being serviced and or waiting to be serviced. Mississippi should invest in me because I will bring in revenue and that money will be taxed. When I find another trustworthy person to bring in, that money will be tax money. The company will be active in the community, bringing a positive environmental mindset.

  • Self Identified Competition

There are two (2) known hair barbers in my area. They cut hair pretty well. One barber has his own shop, but I have heard so many people complain about his service. That individual lives within the city limits. The other works outside the city limits and I have heard really good report of him. I think most people who go into a barbershop wants to relax inside a comfortable barber chair and visual see a barbershop that looks like a barbershop. I have a Mississippi barber license, and the school I went through shop looks good. The teacher showed us how to market and my shop will have finished walls, will have checkerboard flooring, and barbershop sinks unlike my competitors.
