Cross J Farms | Application Preview
Cross J Farms is applying for government grants to support their family-run trucking business. The funds will be used primarily to settle existing debts related to fuel and repairs accrued over the past year. By clearing these debts, they will also be able to invest in necessary upgrades for their equipment, such as replacing an old trailer and purchasing new tires for their trucks.
As a small family business, they are passionate about trucking and are determined to keep their operations running. The owners emphasize the importance of preserving their family legacy, which has been built over generations. They work tirelessly, even on weekends, to keep the business afloat, and the financial strain has become overwhelming. The owners express a deep desire to grow their company for future generations and are humbly seeking assistance during this challenging period.
In terms of competition, they face larger companies like Early Trucking Company and a local competitor, PHH, which can operate more cost-effectively. However, Cross J Farms sets itself apart by fostering a family-like environment and maintaining reasonable pricing for their services. They prioritize treating their employees well, ensuring that everyone is appreciated and cared for, which reflects their core values of compassion and equality.

Funding Usage
These funds would go to help get us back up on our feet to keep running our trucks. We would pay out of some of the debt from fuel and repairs that we have drug out over the last year. With the fuel and repair bills paid off we would be able to get some much needed equipment upgrades to some of our equipment.

Business Plan
We are a small family business that just really wants to keep doing what we love - driving a truck. If we are lucky enough to be granted this opportunity to receive this blessing we will be adding some newer equipment and first thing that will happen is paying off our outstanding bills that have haunted us for quiet some time this year. We have one trailer that we have to baby around that would be replaced with what is left from paying the bills. We would be able to replace some of the trucks tires that need to be done also. We just want to keep our family business up and running. Our company name has our family brand associated with it, it is several generations old, and I do not want to disappoint my family by having to close down. We work 7 days a week and just can not get our head above the water. My husband started this company when he lost both parents in less than a year apart with the little insurance money he received. We really want to be able to grow our company and keep it around for the next generation to have and grow for their next generation. We are willing to take anything we can get at this time, we've never been one to beg for help but right now we could really use some help.

Self Identified Competition
ETC - Early Trucking Company is based out of Georgia, they have a really large fleet and have no trouble getting loads for their drivers. PHH - a trucking company from our hometown that has the ability to put more trucks on the road at a much cheaper price then we have the ability to do. These are the only ones that are in major competition with us that I can think of. We are different because we do not like to overcharge our lease trucks and we treat everyone as though they are part of our family. We live by the rule of 'if you don't want to do it, do you think they would want to do it'. My guys have never asked someone to do something that they would not do themselves first. We were brought up to believe that everyone should be treated the same no matter how they might be different. My husband and son have given their last dollar to a complete stranger just so they could get them something to drink.
