Funding Usage
Funding would allow 20 children the opportunity to enter an anti-bullying program in martial arts for one year. The amount would cover 12 months of training, including fitness, teamwork, discipline and assault prevention for children. It would also pay for their uniform and advancement opportunities. Bullying is an ever-growing problem that is plaguing our youth.

Business Plan
Martial arts is a business which grows upon itself. The more students attending, the more they bring in and, by word of mouth, the community becomes involved. I have ran a large martial arts school with 175 active students. This program would allow many possibilities for growth within the business and in the life of those attending. Our children are constantly experiencing bullying in person, and even cyberbullying through social media etc. A good martial arts foundation not only strengthens the body, but the mind as well. It allows self-respect, discipline, situational brainstorming, and self-control to become a part of the individual's life. Martial arts teaches conflict resolution to the student, helping them to make the best decisions possible in situations such as bullying and peer pressure.

Self Identified Competition
My top three competitors teach varying martial arts from my own. One teaches a very robotic exact curriculum to every student. They all look the same or do not last there long. The second school teaches a competitive sport curriculum that does not teach adequate self defense or life skills. The third school teaches many styles in which they are not properly taught to instruct. I have been an active artist or instructor for 40 years. I am a 7th degree black belt. I have had over 5,000 students of which most have been children. I feel that students, though needing a curriculum as a guide, should be more individualized to portray their strengths as they work on their weaknesses. They should be provided opportunities to gain friendship, discover their hidden abilities in the arts, compete, and even teach what they have learned to others. I, along with my daughter, and brother, bring martial arts to these students to uncover potential they never knew they had.
