Business Plan
How I plan to grow my business in the next five years will be to obtain a larger location, more clients, updated supplies and equipment's, new mobile vehicles, create a referral program that will allow getting new customers in our doors, subscription service for more service and a discount price monthly, Safety cleanliness procedures, website up and running, offering offer half-hour Face Time for at home clients. better marketing and better employee pay and benefits. Learning and grow opportunity for myself and employees. Offering offer half-hour Face Time consultations Why I should be awarded a grant would be because I have worked hard within other companies to make them successful because I was committed to them and learn all I could for growth. I was always asked why do I not work for myself because I do great work on hair and have had the same clients for years. Just the thought of opening my own business was big fear for me because I programmed myself to believe that I was not able or strong enough to handle. I have done hair ever since I was in high school, after going to a nursing home where my grandmother was to do her hair, I gain more clients because they loved how I do hair. I manage a Sunday schedule for going to the nursing home to do hair for several clients. It felt good to help those that just was to look and feel good about themselves when they cannot do it on their own. I was making enough money to stay afloat with my lifestyle and help others. I broke the barrier that I was sleeping under and went outside my fear and opened Braids & More. I started out with the clients that I had and managed my schedule. Threw word on mouth My clients grew. I was able to work inside my home and offer mobile service. This grew to special events and school age events. I needed help. I employed 11 employees that help keep my business running smoothly. I was comfortable and we were improving. Once covid hit, we toke a heavy hit because we were not prepared for this change. I lose several employees and a lot of clients. This broke me because I could not do or help do what I love to do. I did not let the setback take what I work so hard to build. Now I am rebuilding, it is slow but progressing. I believe this funding will assist in me getting back out there and assisting my clients. Improve my location and obtain my formal employees. I can get better supplies, equipment's and repair my mobile vehicle for travel and keep up with the safety precautions measures that is need to assist in a safe environment. Your funds will be helping my business in helping m client get back to a normal life that make the feel and look good.

Self Identified Competition
Baray Hair Salon & Barber Shop their specialty are great haircuts. They taught one of my employees how to do perfect edge cuts and tips. PERFECT LOOK HAIR BRAIDING has a unique braiding style. I learn more how to do different braiding styles from them. / Passion's Hair are great with hair styles and I learn a lot of tips on how to properly style different texture of hair. I use these salon shops as someone that can help me grow my business because we all do our own unique was to assist our customers. What makes me different from other competitors are I feel that I am not a competitor. We do the same work and I work off what I specialize in. I view these competitors as a learning experience because of what they do I can either learn from or grow from. What we do is for the community and this helps us grow. I keep myself knowledgeable and open for anything that comes my way and I support anyone in the same business that I am in. I believe that if we love what we do we should not compete with one another but learn and support one another. This makes a different because we show that we are can work together in our own specialties as a community.
