Rad Hippie 102-733041 | Government Grant Application

Rad Hippie | Application Preview

Rad Hippie is applying for government grants to establish a physical store location, such as in a strip mall. The funding will be used to cover essential expenses, including utilities, store design, inventory, and hiring staff for both in-store and online operations. The owner aims to leverage their existing customer base from previous successful retail ventures while investing in digital marketing strategies like SEO and social media to enhance visibility.

The business plan highlights the synergy between the new brick-and-mortar store and the online shop, which is set to launch soon. The owner believes that having both physical and online presences will drive success for each channel.

Rad Hippie will be competing with brands like Free People and Urban Outfitters. The owner has already garnered attention from Free People, indicating interest in the business’s potential. The competitive edge lies in the unique product mix that includes organic and eco-friendly clothing and accessories, as well as a commitment to social good. The aim is to create a sustainable shopping experience that resonates with the values of the target market, enhancing both environmental and social responsibility.

  • Funding Usage

Secure a store location, ie strip mall etc. Buy inventory, hire people to do SEO, social media and the website as well as work in the store. Pay for utilities, displays and set up of the store (design, racks, decor, register etc. and being able to meet personal expenses in the interim while getting the store opened.

  • Business Plan

Have my customer base from when I owned my brick and mortar retail stores. I would hire people to do the social media, spend money on google, work on SEO, find a high traffic shopping strip. There aren't many here in the Marina area. The brick and mortar store will greatly impact the success of the online store and vice versa. I've owned 2 brick and mortar retail stores in the past that did very well. Both were successful and I' m good at it. I have spent this time over Covid to rebuild the entire online site offering items that I have done in the past and I know that it will be successful. You can see my product mix etc on the online store. I want to open another brick and mortar store because having the 2 will benefit and complement both businesses. The new online store will be officially launching here shortly but I really would like to have a physical location be able to hire people.

  • Self Identified Competition

Free People, Urban Outfitters, Shop Bop, and the like. Free People will put ads on my RadHippie.com page so I've caught there attention without even having the inventory I would like to add and have plans to purchase if I can find incentive to help me accomplish it. My product mix. I offer tees and clothing for both men and women. Yoga essential and wear since most boho/hippie people tend to be Yogis, boho home decor, accessories etc. My concept now is proving products that are organic, eco-friendly as well as products that go to social good programs such as human trafficking, exploited women, buying from women owned business and the like. A store that help us all live a more sustainable life. Every little bit counts to making the world a better place.
