Press Forward is seeking government grants to support its mission of providing comprehensive assistance to veterans, particularly in New Jersey, where a significant population of veterans faces challenges in transitioning to civilian life.
The organization projects a total revenue of $150,000, which includes donations from various sources and fundraising events. The funds will primarily be allocated for asset purchases, including essential items like food vouchers, undergarments, toiletry bags, winter wear, grooming vouchers, scholarship awards, and laptops for veterans, totaling $57,800. Additional funding will go toward operational expenses, such as contractor fees, marketing, internet services, and payroll expenses, amounting to $75,600 for staff salaries and related taxes.
Press Forward aims to expand its client capacity from 20 to 200 veterans over the next five years. To achieve this, the organization plans to enhance its team with professionals across various fields, establish a robust network of referral services, stock necessary supplies, raise awareness about veterans' benefits, and build its community brand.
The need for funding is underscored by statistics highlighting the challenges veterans face, such as high percentages of homelessness and difficulty adjusting to civilian life. Press Forward asserts that many veterans lack essential skills for civilian life due to their military training.
The organization distinguishes itself as the only Military Resource Center in the Atlantic County area, emphasizing its commitment to providing compassionate support. This competitive edge positions Press Forward as a vital resource for veterans, aiming to facilitate their transition through employment assistance, immediate care packages, and mentoring programs.
To fulfill these objectives and enhance the services offered to veterans, Press Forward seeks the necessary funding to sustain and expand its impactful programs.

Business Plan
We have set the following parameters to increase our client capacity from 20 to 200 in the next five years in order to achieve goals of veteran support services. • Continue to build our team of veterans, including financial advisors, legal advisors, career trainers, therapists to assist in mentoring (not providing therapy), and marketing specialists to facilitate continual donations campaigns • Build our network of referral services for veterans, including medical support providers, financial advisors, and life skills mentoring • Build a stock of goods and supplies to support veterans in need, including homeless veterans • Ensure that the veterans we serve are aware of the benefits for which they are entitled and assist with the required paperwork provided by a certified public accountant (CPA) • Build our community brand reputation as a company that is dedicated toward creating opportunities for veterans and their families New Jersey ranks 19th in the US among all states with the highest percentage of veteran population at 5 percent of all New Jersey residents at over 400,000 veterans. According to the last posted data, in 2016, Atlantic County in New Jersey had an excess of 17,000 veterans. As of 2020, there is a conservative estimate of 4,300 homeless women veterans in New Jersey and across the country. In November 2020, New Jersey had a reported 583 veterans experiencing homelessness on any given day, as reported by Continuums of Care to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). We also are aware from national statistics reported by Veteran Affairs that 46 percent of veterans who served in combat are significantly more likely than those who did not to say their readjustment into civilian life was difficult. Our veterans are highly trained in a myriad of tasks specific to protecting the citizens of the USA and people of other nations; under the orders of the Commander-in-Chief but they are not trained in necessary civilian life skills. Many of the veterans entered military life at the age of 18 after just leaving high school, leaving them without the knowledge of managing finances, writing a resume, and best practices in interviewing. The transitional period of a regimented military life to a civilian life of unlimited choices can be overwhelming. Our veterans have fought for our freedom, but military life is one of restrictions and does not prepare the veterans for an unstructured and free lifestyle. There is a need for organizations that further support the Veteran Affairs by providing the following: • Employment opportunities and assistance with preparing appropriate resumes and training in best interview practices • Immediate necessity care packages • Mentoring and support for reassimilation into a civilian lifestyle • Preparing benefits paperwork for veterans To realize our vision of offering comprehensive veteran opportunities, we must generate the necessary funding to continue and enhance our programs.

Self Identified Competition
We are the only Military Resource Center in the Atlantic County South Jersey area that provides the services that we offer. There are not any other competitors in the area that provides this assistance. Press Forward, Inc. (PFI) was formed as an answer to assist veterans in finding a civilian life opportunity of purpose, prosperity, and community. So while others turn away from the complexities of supporting a veteran with reentry into a civilian lifestyle, and community involvement, PFI embraces our veterans with compassion. Press Forward Inc. encourages working with other organizations that share the same goals to provide assistance for veterans.
