Fido & Barker | Application Preview
Fido & Barker is seeking government grant funding to support relocating to a new shop location and to cover the costs of lab testing for their dog treats, which is a state requirement. The owner has ambitious plans for the business over the next five years, aiming to establish a thriving shop and expand sales through wholesale on platforms like Faire, as well as leveraging social media and Etsy for marketing.
The applicant expresses strong dedication and motivation, emphasizing a desire for growth and a commitment to overcoming obstacles to get the business up and running quickly. Currently, there is minimal competition in the area, with only one small pet shop nearby that lacks fresh gourmet dog treats. Fido & Barker aims to distinguish itself by focusing on homemade, affordable dog treats and essential pet supplies, providing a more specialized experience compared to larger stores like Petsmart and Petco.
The grant funding is seen as essential for the business to progress in the near term, and the applicant believes that the investment will highlight their commitment and the potential for success.

Funding Usage
I wish to use this funding towards a new location that I wish to relocate to and put the funds towards setting that shop up and also get my dog treats lab-tested as that's a requirement of the state and it's expensive.

Business Plan
I have tons of ideas for my small business and I hope to be settled into the shop I dream about in the next 5 years. As my business grows, my ideas grow and changes will happen for the better. I plan to sell wholesale on a marketplace called Faire, which I think is a great plan to grow my business and get our treats out there. Along with using social media like Facebook and sites such as Etsy. I think investors should invest in me because I am a dedicated and motivated individual and only want the best for my business, I want my business to do well, I see a future in this. However, for me to get where I want to be in the next 2 months, I need more funding. If I can just keep going and knock off stuff off of my "to-do" list, I can get my shop up and running in no time. I will be 100% grateful and honored that I invested in, period. I am not the kind of person to give up and I have honestly looked at different revenues as far as funding goes but I dont qualify. I think if the investors invested in me, they will soon find out my dedication and seriousness.

Self Identified Competition
As of now, there are no competitors in the area I wish is operate out of inside the mall. However, there is only one small pet shop that I know of that is maybe within a 10 miles radius. This one pet shop is small, they sell small qualities of cats, and have a small collection of pet foods and supplies. They dont offer fresh gourmet dog treats. Petsmart is huge and has all kinds of things for pets, they dont offer fresh pet treats, and they're pricey. What sets me apart from my competitors is my mission, I dont want to have a wide variety of pet food and products in my shop. I just want to have the essentials in my shop for pets and our gourmet dog treats sold at our location. Thats what we are about anyway, Homemade pet treats, that are better and safer for pets Most customers who come into my shop like my prices better. I know that Petsmart and Petco products are expensive, including Walmart pet supplies, and I want to be a specialty shop that sells certain pet supplies and our pet treats. affordable.
