Banana Bridge Bakery | Application Preview
Banana Bridge Bakery is seeking government grants to help launch a bakery in downtown Bixby, Oklahoma. The funds will be utilized for purchasing commercial equipment, renovating the storefront, and covering various other expenses. The goal is to have the bakery fully operational by March of next year, with plans to hire additional staff to extend operating hours and enhance productivity.
The bakery will fill a niche in a growing town that currently lacks dedicated bakery options. The owner, a local with deep roots in the community, believes Bixby would benefit from a local bakery, particularly one run by a young woman with a strong connection to the area.
While there are competitors such as The Copper Key Coffeehouse and a local grocery store with baked goods, Banana Bridge Bakery will differentiate itself by offering freshly baked, customizable items. The focus will be on unique products like custom cookies, cupcakes, and cakes, which are not currently available in town. The owner's commitment to quality and building lasting relationships with customers is expected to foster loyalty and repeat business.

Business Plan
I would like to have my storefront and full running bakery by March of next year, then hire some help so that I can have longer hours and better productivity. The location of my bakery will be in a busy, growing town, with no other bakeries near by. I have a degree in marketing and management and have been preparing myself for years to be my own boss. Bixby, Oklahoma needs a local bakery and historic downtown is the best place for one. Especially for it to be owned by a young woman who grew up in the town and has had family there for over a century.

Self Identified Competition
There is a new coffee shop called The Copper Key Coffeehouse that sells muffins and scones, a local grocery store that has a bakery, and a local restaurant called Scott’s Hamburgers that bakes frozen Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. My business will only supply goods baked from scratch, that have never been frozen, and are completely customizable. I will supply sweets as well as breakfast pastries, but my focus will be custom cookies, cupcakes, and cakes that no one else in town provides. I am locally owned and ran, and look to form a relationship with my clients that will keep them coming back.
