Inspire Studio And Art Gallery 85-1655522 | Government Grant Application

Inspire Studio And Art Gallery | Application Preview

Inspire Studio and Art Gallery is seeking government grants to support various revitalization projects, including repairs to the ceiling, improved lighting, renovation of the building facade, updated art furniture for classes, and necessary painting and labor for these initiatives.

The business plan focuses on continuing online art sales and weekly art classes in the studio. The owner aims to offer demonstrations to local schools and weekly classes for senior citizens, either in the studio or at their facilities. There are also plans to maintain regular store and gallery hours and invite a well-known artist for an annual workshop.

The case for funding highlights a passion for producing meaningful art that reflects the culture of rural Oklahoma, alongside a commitment to teaching. The owner criticizes the trend of superficial art experiences and strives to impart a deeper understanding of art's purpose and aesthetics. The belief is that genuine art education enriches lives and fosters a lifelong desire to learn.

In Shawnee, Oklahoma, the owner notes a lack of direct competitors. While there are galleries featuring local artists, their work is distinct in style and focuses on original paintings. The owner emphasizes that their unique artistic approach, inspired by rural themes, sets them apart, fostering an atmosphere of friendship rather than competition.

  • Business Plan

I plan to continue to produce art and sell online as I do now. I will continue to offer art classes once a week in my studio. I would like to offer demonstrations to public and private schools if teachers have a need or desire to use me. I would like to offer classes to senior citizens once a week either in my studio or be mobile and take the classes to them in their facility. I will continue to have store and gallery hours for clients and customers. I would love to have a well known artist as a guest to hold a workshop at least once a year. I love to produce art, especially work that implies or tells stories of things about my love of rural Oklahoma, but I love to teach. I see especially today that many think art is going to a party and producing something in one to two hours while drinking a beverage and talking with friends. I’m not criticizing fun and the excitement of creating something at all, but I do feel that many miss the “boat”, or they miss the opportunity to enrich their lives with a more meaningful way of understanding art. Aesthetics for art is so different now. As a teacher I want people to know why they create it, still have fun in the process of it, but learn from it. The production of fine art takes time. It takes hard work and education...sometimes years. It requires understanding objectively as well as subjectively. Aesthetics of generations come and go, but knowing the language and purpose of art is enduring. Creativity and inspiration are mine to behold in my own art, but I want others to experience as much or more as I teach the skill of painting to them. Learning the skills of painting is realizing that the more you learn.....the more you want to learn. It brings rich experiences of accomplishment to a learner.

  • Self Identified Competition

I have no competitors here in Shawnee, Oklahoma that I know of. There are a few galleries that represent a few artists from Oklahoma, but my paintings are different in style, and I sell originals in my gallery. I represent myself in my own gallery. I choose to have friends rather than competitors. The art that I produce clearly shows a different style than anyone in the area. I'm highly inspired by country, rural and Oklahoma themes, and I have not seen very many realistic paintings and especially still life in my area.
